Jim is an astronomy student at Western University, London, On Saturday evening, Pastor and Mrs. CILKOensen and the. Lickers took Jim's tele?tope over to the Anglican Church driveway. Jim and all saw Halley's Comet and Mrs. Lickers did the Halley dance. The Lickers returned to London very' happy they could see the Holley's Comet clearly at Kinlough. Residents are all pleased that Jim and his wife not only enjoyed the weekend in snowy Kinlough, but achieved his hoped-for mission. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDon- ald were Mr. and Mrs. Mac McDonald and Jeffrey of Kincardine, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson, Teeswater and Mr. and Mrs. Ken MacDonald, Carl, Lisa and Heather of Kinlough. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh 'Lane and Blaine were dinner guests on Jan. 10 with Mrs. Frank Maulden and Keith. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett and his mother, Mrs. Marjorie Bennett, brought Mr. Arthur Haldenby home from Toronto where he enjoyed the festive season. Mrs. Agnes Hodgins and Jim went to Windsor to visit with Mrs. Russell Rillett and to .bring Mrs. Jim (Volaine) Hodgins home after being with her mother since the death of Volaine's father. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Jean Kraemer and family in the sudden death of her husband, David Kraemer.. Eric Haldenby returned. on Monday, to begin his second semester at the college of agriculture at Ridgetown. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alex Percy who will celebrate their golden wedding on Jan. 19 at Kinlough Presbyter- ian Church, 2 - 4 p.m. On Saturday at noon in Wingham' Hos- pital., it was a very special day for Mr. Dan Nicholson. He celebrated his 98th birthday with his' family, Mr. and Mrs, Don (Marion) Gillespie; Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Isabel) Hunter, Mr. and Mrs, Lorne (Margaret) Ritchie, Mrs. Bill (Donalda) Smith and Mr, and Mrs. Ken Nicholson all present for the happy occa,sion. Dan was so delighted to have all of them (unfortunately Donalda's huspand Bill was on duty and couldn't come.). Mrs. Ron Gillespie had made and decorated a beautiful birthday cake and all enjoyed it. Dan loved it and , all his birthday good wishes. Those from Kinlough also add congratu- lations. . Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Page entertained at a dinner at their home on Saturday evening. , Mr. and Mrs. Ezra.Stanley were honored on Sunday with a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dong,Stanley and family at Harriaton. Those present were ,Mrs.. Leonard Stanley, Cathy and Terry from Kinlough, Arthur Stanley; Mr. and .Mrs. Floyd Stanley, Dean and Kerry of Ripley; Larry and Brett Stanley, Kincardine; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kaake, Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs -Dan, Tollefson and Kent; Mr and -Md. Tony-, Bedford, Ashley - and :Karla,. Mississauga; Ezra, Lula and Cnnnii:Stan., ley, LuclmoW; and Tony Howald, Lucknow; The dinner was held before Mr. and Ezra Stanley and granddaughters Connie and Cathy go to Florida for a holiday. In Room 5, it is generally agreed that snow is Great!, The class are also learning subtraction number stories. Early in January 1985, the Grade 7 class wrote their predictions for the year. This week it has been fun to read these pages to see how many predictions came true. Lois Tebbutt's Room 7, Grade 3 and 4, are growing and observing their own crystal gardens.
