Elliott,, Steve Srthpson and Al Eadie
handled the scoring Wile everyone else
handled the rough stuff"in a penalty -filled
game. Ray Guay kept the rubber out of the
net for the locals and this put the Lancers
in the consolation final against Ripley.
Lucknow 4, Ripley .
Believe it... or Not 1 This was the Lancers
best performance of the tournament as
everyone played well in beating ' the
Roosters for the first time this season. Jim
Murray gave. the locals a one goal lead
early in the first and Grant Murray added
another before :the period ended.
Pat Murray stole the show in the second
period, when he grabbed a loose puck' near
centre ice and skated in alone on net,
ripping a shot to the top; cornea fol a 3 - 0'
Lancer lead. .
Mark Stanley and Dave Gaihble cut the
lead to.one goal but an empty net goal by
Steve Simpson ensured a Lucknow victory:
Allan Dyck came up with some big s"aves.
