Its location on top of a hill on one of the. busiest corners in the community makes it an impressive sight as one enters the village from almost any direction." Those are lines taken from the introduc- tory address by Reverend R. Warren McDougall in "What Do Those Stones Mean To You?" The book was recently published to commemorate the 100th anni- versary on Dec. 6, 1985 of the dedication of the Lucknow United Church. The council of the village of Lucknow has taken out options to purchase six proper- ties in the search for -a suitable location for the village's proposed sewage treatment plant. Agreementshave been signed and pay- ments of $500 each have been made to Bruce Colwell, Evan Keith and Gordon Brooks, all of Kinloss Township, and to Robert Martin, Don Ritchie and Barry McDonagh, all landowners in Ashfield Township. The payment is kept whether the option is exercised or not. With little comment, Huron County Council will break a long time tradition and throw open its committee and board meetings to the public. This decision was one of the last made by the retiring 1983-85 council at a special meeting on Nov, 28.
