Page 20 - Lueknow Sentinel, Wednesday, November 16, 1994 BIRTHS Van Osch - Big brothers Matthew and Bradley arc thrilled to an- nounce the long awaited arrival of their new playmate, Connor •Wil= liam, on Nov. 5, 1994 at Wingharn and District Hospital, weighing in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. Proud parents are Perry ' and Wendy. Spoiling privileges go to grandparents John and Rena Forster and Joc and Thel- ma Van Osch. Great grandparents arc Elva McClinchey of Goderich, and Mr. and Mrs. John Mayer of Hanover. Shoot winners There were five tables of shoot in play at the Drop in Centre last week with Muriel Moffat, Tom Culbert, Maimic Roulston and Wilbur Brown in the winners' circle. Isobel Kilpatrick had the most shoots. At the Nov. 8 shoot party, spon- sored by the St Helen's W.1., Art Ernewet.n and Lbis Chamney, Were high . with Ross Errington and Elaine Errington second high, and Ross Taylor taking the most shoots. Six tables were in play. The next party 1, Nov. 22. Minister is guest speaker at WI meeting Thirteen ladies sat down to des- sera and tea, served by Lois Good- hue and Rita Gilmore, prior to the meeting of the Lucknow Women's Institute last week. Rev. Dan Armstrong was the truest speaker. He shared the begin- nings of his career and his rather unique charge in Kentucky With a lot off memories and good humor thrown in.. The group decided to finance a portrait of Dr. Mel Corrin to be hung in the medical centre. Bernadean Ritchie and Celia Aitchison reported on the rally they attended in Wiarton. Their piresen- tation was so good, you felt like you were there. Plans . were made for the Christmas. party in December. Mrs. Goodhue conducted an oral contest in keeping with citizenship and legislature and one on baseball. Mrs. Gilmore read an article on `Proud to be Canadian'. Having purchased the building where ` Lloya's Dolls Plus" is located, Harold and Lloya Nichol- son moved into the apartment over the store. Jim and Bev Clark moved into the home on Havelock Street that they ,purchased from the Nichol- sons. Jane Treleaven returned horns from Ottawa where she had been able to attend the 90th birthday party of Gertrude Treleaven. Mrs. Treleaven still lives with her daughter, Ruth, and although suf- fering with arthritis is still quite alert mentally and was able to enjoy the many cards and flowers she received for her birthday. Sympathy is extended to the family of Esther Gibson, of Goderich, who passed away last week with services. in Lucknow on Friday afternoon. Ross and Beatty Irwin spent last UCKNOW by Mildred Lame week in Cancun, •Mexico, where they attended the wedding of their son, Paul to Stacy Talbot, held at the hotel Melia in Cancun on Thursday afternoon. Also attending were her mother Marjorie Talbot of White River, her aunt Ruby of Woodstock and sister Cindy and Terry Concis of Sudbury. From this area were Ray and Bonnie Cunnin- gham, David and Sheila Gibson, Glen Allen of Holyrood, Austin and Mary O'Donnell of Woodstock area, Susan Thompson of Waterloo and friends, Bob and Dalis of Bur- lington. Get well wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Sara Ritchie who was recently injured in an automobile accident. She is now out of the hospital and recuperating. The Lucknow Central Public School received a generous donation from the Lucknow and District Lions,.in the form of a lap top computer last week. Megan Trachsel, who recently underwent surgery is not able to return to class yet, will be the first student to put it to good use to keep up with school work The school is hoping to obtain a modem so that Megan, or others, when hospitalized, can also use the computer as a means of communicating, through Ability -on -Line, with other hospitalized children.
