Whitechurch UCW The UCW ladies held their Nov. 2 meeting at the church. The topic was Christian Stewardship and Finance. Pauline Adams and Gertrude Dumin were leaders. Mrs. Adams opened the meeting reading This is the Day. The scrip- ture was read by Mrs. Durnin. The group received a mission letter from Trevor and Jeanette Adams of Zaire. Trevor is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Raymond Adams of Kitchener. The members participated in a contest titled What or Whom do These Suggest. Whitechurch.WI The Whitechurch Women's Institute held its Family and Con- sumer Affairs meeting. on Nov. 8, with Marjorie Wall as convenor and hostess. - Guests were present from Win- gham and Lucknow institutes. The rollcall was 'my favorite leisure activity', and the motto `safety in the home' was given by Mrs. Wall. Program numbers were given by the Whitechurch Ragtime Band, a readingfrom Bernadean Ritchie of Lucknow, and Helen Dougherty of Wingham gave .the history of the POPPY, ' Debbie Stewart of Wingham was the special speaker for the evening. She is a dietician working for the Huron County health office in Clin- ton. Using overhead projections, Mrs. Stewart displayed food •pack- aging and health rules.
