Wednesday, November 16. 1994 Bantam B record not indicative of the team's skills Lucknow's Bantam B team began its season on Nov. 5 with a game in Durham. Lucknow opened the scoring early in the first period with a goal by Darryl Aitchison, assisted by George Carter. Three minutes later, still moving at a blistering pace, the team increased its lead with a second goat courtesy of Jeff Cranston with assistance from Taylor Mali and Nathan Ferguson. This assault encouraged the Dur- ham team to rally with two quick goals five minutes later, tieing the score. Carter regained the, lead for Lucknow with three minutes remaining in the first period with Matt Eadie getting the assist. The delight was short lived as Durham tied the score at the end of the first and successfully thwarted Lucknow assaults on their goal for the remainder of the game. Durham scored once in each of the second and third periods before the game ended with an agree upon curfew. The final score was 5 to 3 for Dur- ham. Lucknow served 12 minutes .in penalties while the Durham team drew 32 minutes. The team saw action for the second time the next day at home against the Listowel Cyclones. Neither team was able to break through the other's defences during the first period but Listowel dominated the second period with four goals. Early in the third period, Luck-, now's sole addition' to the scoreboard was a goal by Richard Walke, assisted by Darryl Aitchison and George Carter. Listowel scored a final goal in the period to end the game at 5 to 1. Clint Gunter was welcomed up from Pee Wee to share net duties with Sean Lougheed for this game., The team is to be commended for TRY READING THIS AD WITH A'BAGOF' GROCERIES & A KID IN YOUR AS. This will serve them well in their season. . Sean Lougheed guarded the Ban- tam B's net for two periods 'when they visited Walkerton on Nov. 11, and allowed the host team to double up on the score. Lucknow served eight minutes of penalties to Walkerton's four, in the 4 - 2 game. Jordan Andrew opened the scoring early, dodging a poke check by the Walkerton goalie. Walkerton retaliated in the second. Lucknow's Martyn Van Meeteren took a pass from Andrew in front of the net and popped it home to give Lucknow the lead. Walkerton tied in the game in the third with Clint Gunter defending 'the opposition's net, A second goal put them ahead and one in an empty net with two seconds left to . play allowed Walkerton to double the score on Lucknow.
