about Loyalists
by Melissa Brown, Chad Foster,
Tanya Schultz,
and Autumn Stephens
The Grade 8s just completed a
study about the Loyalists: At first
the students took point form notes
from information in books and
encyclopedias (shelf and compact
disk). The notes' were made on
index cards, and were used to write
a research report. They then
• formed groups to make "Jackdaws".
Jackdaws are large envelopes filled
with made-up "examples" \ of a
i history period or a person.
Each 'group member, had. to par-
ticipatte in some way. They •shared
diaries,, flags, letters, signs, adver-
tisements, and cartoons from the
Loyalists' time period. , Most
students thought it was interesting
• and fun. Pam Young thought that
"The most important thing was that
you learned; a: lot and that it was
' fun.", If you're looking for a great
idea, try Jackdaw`s, it will bed great
experience!

HURON COUNTY ((ABLE
In recent years, the advanced technology beds allowed cable TV
subscriptions to be delivered to town and country residences any-
where via a wireless personal cable system. The expense of run-
ning cable lines or installing new fibreoptic lines to each resident
in the country is not feasible. Installing a wireless cable unit into
each household allows the subscriber's to have access to 'over
120' free channels, with the option of -subscribing to speciality
channels on an individual basis (thus bypassing the middleman,
"the cable company")
This cable service, can also be provided, to the existing satellite
dish owner with a simple modification to their equipment.
Allen Stubbs...First in Entertainment has had over 10 years expe-
rience in providing, cable TV subscription signals from their pri-
vate cable systems throughrut Ontario. Therefore, the wireless
residential units are a naturaLaddition to their product lines.
Allen Stubbs has been: granted the exclusive right to rent, lease,
or sell wireless Country. Kable systems throughout Huron County..
