Laverne Berry Pentland
1906 - 1994
Laverne Berry Pentland, of
Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan,
formerly of Dungannon, died 'on
Oct. 31F, 1994, in his 89th year. He
worked for Federal Engineering in
Detroit,
Mr. Pentland was a member of
the Dungannon United Church, the
Pillar Masonic Lodge and Shriner
Club - Moslem Temple, both in
Detroit.
Born on Apr. 15, 1906, in West
Wawanosh Township (Dungannon),
Mr. Pentland was a son of the Tate
Alexander and Ada (Augustine)
Pentland.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Dorothy Taylor, whom he
married on Nov. 29, 1934 in Rock-
wood, Ontario.
Mr. Pentland is also survived by
his children Pam and her husband,
Leonard Biloy of Howell,
Michigan, and Bob and his wife,

three brothers, Ben of London,
'Frank and Wilfred, both of Dungan-
non, and a sister, • Margaret
Pritchard of Goderich; eight
grandchildren and two great
-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers
Alan and Ronald, and a sister
Claire.
The funeral was conducted at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Horne, Lucknow, on Nov. 3 with
Rev. A. McGilvery of the Dungan-
non United Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Mark Pentland,
Scott Pentland, Matthew Pentland,
Michael Pentland, Phillip Foster and
Gary Caesar.
Interment Dungannon Cemetery.
John L. Redmond
John L. "Jack" Redmond of Ash-
field Township died at his home on
Nov. 4, 1994, in his 86th year.
Mr. Redmond is survived by .his
wife Theresa (Lassaline) Redmond,
and children: Diane and John Hous-
. ton of Guelph, John F. and Gayle
Redmond of Beamsville, Mark and
Patricia Redmond of Maxwell,
Janice and Bob Ujimoto of Ft.
McMurray, Alberta, James and

The late Mr. Redmond is also
survived by one sister Mary Smith
of Simcoe.
Visitation was at the McCallum
and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich.

mass at St.' Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church, Kingsbridge, on
Nov. 7.

John Leonard Roulston
1922 1994
John Leonard Roulston, of the
Sepoy Apartments, Lucknow, died
at the Wingham and District
Hospital, on Oct. 30, 1994, in his
73rd year. He was rctiral Huron
Township farmer.
Mr. Roulston was born on Sept.
30, 1922 in Walkerton. He was a
son of the 'late William T. and
Emma (McKinnon) Roulswn:
Ile is survived by several cousins.
The funeral was conducted by
Rev. William Bresnahan. of the
Lucknow United Church on Nov. 1,
1994 at the MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow.

Duncan A. MacKay
Duncan A. MacKay, 84, of
Goderich, died at the Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital .on
Nov. 1: 1994.
He is survived by his Wife
Josephine (Weir) MacKay, and
children Barbara MacKay of Dun-
das and John MacKay and his wife
Christine, of London; and
grandchildren Kyle and Neil MacK-
ay.
Mr. MacKay is also survived by
two brothers John S. MacKay of
Kintail, and' Donald MacKay and
his wife, Louise, of New
Westminster, B.C..
Services were held at the McCal-
lum and Palla Funeral Home,
Goderich, on Nov. 2 by the Royal
Canadian Legion and Ladies'
Auxiliary to Branch 109 and the
Morningstar Lodge #309 A.F. &
A.M.
The funeral was conducted by
Rev. David Nicholson on Nov. 3,
with interment in Colborne
Cemetery. Piper at the committal
service was Mr. MacKay's son,
John.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack
Videan, Norman MacDonald, Allan
McTaggart, Cliff McDonald, Clare
McCue, Kenneth Scott, and Ernie
Crawford.
Pallbearers were Dwayne Rising,
Ron Durnin, Greg Hazlitt, Avard
Miller, Peter McDonald and George
McDonald.
Clara Agnes Cleghorn
Clara Agnes Cleghorn, of
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home,
and formerly of Wingham, died at
the home on. Nov. • 7, in her 88th
year.

Athol and his wife Mabel Purdon of
Welland, sister-in-law, Hazel

Over 300 Women's Institute

chaired by president A.E. Dale of
Woodstock.' In her address she
compared Women's Institute to. a
tree from the roots *to- the leaves.
