The 1994 Huron County Warden Allan Gibson and his wife
Nancy were honored at an appreciation night hosted by
Gibson's municipality of Ashfield Township last Friday. Gibson
is the sixth reeve from Ashfield to become warden of the
county. Hewas presented with a Kirstead print and Mrs. Gibson
received a dozen red roses in recognition of her support to her

Charge Kinloss man with impaired
A 58 -year-old Kinloss Township
man was charged withan impaired
driving offence after being stopped
on Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss
Township.
Officers Stopped the man's pickup
truck on Oct. 22 at 8:48 p.m. and
discovered he had been drinking.
He failed a road side screening
test and subsequent breathalyser
exam.
OPP are warning people to keep
their bicycles locked or chained.
OPP Staff Sergeant Al Neville
said they have had a "rash" of
bicycle thefts and a number • of
found bicycles brought to the OPP
detachment.
He is warning people to keep
Their bikes chained whcin they. are
leaving them somewhere.
"Don't leave them laying all over
the place for people to pick up."
At home, he recommends keeping
them locked in a garage or chained
somewhere out of •sight.
He is also asking people to keep.

in Kincardine and the townships.
Three auxiliary officers will be
working with officers and the
amateur radio club will be pro-
viding extra eyes, watching•out of
trouble.
"We're not opposed to people•
having good, clean, fun but we
won't tolerate people doing damage
to other people's property."
Neville is also asking parents to
accompany their kids when trick -or -
treating, check their candy for
anything that shouldn't be there and
make sure their costumes make
them visible at night.
It's Block Parent Week
Oct. 24 to 30 is Block Parent
Week.
This year, the communities of
Lucknow, Kincardine, Tiverton
and Ripley' are hosting a
workshop titled "Family & Com-
munity Hand in Hand".
The workshop is scheduled for
this Saturday, Oct. 29, between
12:30 and 4 p.m. at Huron
Heights Public School, Kincar-
dine. Segments of the workshop
include information on the
program and use of signs; roll of
the police by Andy Burgess;
how to protect your family and
community and street proofing.
This is an open workshop with
free admission.
There will also be displays by
Crime Stoppers -and the Health
Unit.
