grandparents Lloyd and Ann Mac-
Dougall, of Lucknow.
Atkinson - Steve and Joanne, of
Lucknow, welcome with love their
daughter, Rebecca Lynn, born -Oct.
7, 1994, at Wingham and District
Hospital, weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz.
Rebecca is a wee sister for Melissa
and Emily, and.a granddaughter for
Wayne and Carol Atkinson, Luck -
now and Karl and Lorna Lang,
Teeswatcr.
Jennifer Collins graduatedwith
an Honours Bachelor of Arts
(with honours) from Guelph -
University on Oct. 7, 1994. Her
parents Roy -and Maureen, and
Tim Pauley attended the
ceremony.
Advance polls
For those unable, to vote on •
election day, all municipalities
will hold' advance polls on Satur-
day, Nov. 5 and Wednesday,
Nov. 9 between the hours of 10
am. 'and 8 p.m.,
Open house
An open house at the Bruce
arca solid waste recycling site
will give county residents the
opportunity to learn about the
recycling loop, from their curb
to new products. .
Visitors will also be. able to
tour the facility, information
centres and view processing
equipment demonstrations.
The open house is set for Oct.
19, between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Shoot winners
The first shoot party of the
, season was held in the St.
Helen's WI Hall with prizes
going to Elaine Errington and
Ruth Conley, in respective high
and low positions. Ross
Errington was high man and
• Cliff Menary low man. Art
Ernewein had the most shoots.
The next party is Oct. 25.

Couples enjoy trips
to British Columbia
Lenore and Oliver Glenn enjoyed
a trip to Dawson Crock, B.C. in
September, where they visited his
;sister Joyce and Herb Pocock. They
travelled through northern Ontario
and returned through the northern
states. •
Enjoying Thanksgiving with the
Glenns were Lenore's brother and
wifc, Ray and Freda Adams from
Kitchener as well as other family
members.
Bev and Don Thompson, of Luck -
now, spent last week in Vancouver,
British Columbia, visiting with
Don's cousin Bob Hewat, his wife
Roberta and daughters Jodi and
Shelley. They also visited in Ab-
botsford with Don's aunt ,Frances
Hewat and his cousin 'Nancy Biles
and her family, Steve and Sally
Biles.
During their visit to Vancouver
-they attended the wedding of Shel-
ley Hewat and Scott Lytle.
There were nine tables of shoot' in
play at the Drop in Centre last
week. High players were Donalda
Moffat and Art Ernewein; low
players were Wendy Ritchie and
Harry Lavis, with Andy Scott
talking the most shoots.
• Visiting with Mr..and Mrs. Bill
Congram and family were his
mother Edna Grenier (Irwin) from
Kitchener, and his sister Shirley
Lynch of Pembroke.
Members of St. Mary's Church
joined with residents of River Val-
ley Apartments on Sunday to
celebrate Vera Friendorf's up-
coming 90th birthday.
Evans and Barb Helm entertained
with musical numbers followed
with readings by Imelda Murray
and Betty O'Donnell. Seven-year-
old Ashley Friendorf played piano
Solos for her grandmother.

Lillian Abbott has moved into the
home she purchased from Don•
McMurray at 540 Havelock Street.
Her'sister from Manitoba was here.

Members of the Girl Guides held
a fund-raiser in the form of a rock-
a-thon on Saturday, from 8 to 8, in
the Town ,Hall.

that arc celebrating birthdays this

run at Saugeen Bluffs, near Paisley

Edward and Nancy Brown enjoyed
Thanksgiving dinner with Dorothy
Brown and helped her celebrate her
birthday.
Rhoda MacKenzie returned home
Sunday after spending last week
with her sisters, Edna and Eliza
Cook, at Owen Sound.
It was a beautiful day Saturday
for the wedding of Cindy Struthers
and Corey McKee, held in the
Lucknow United Church with the
reception in the Community Centre.
The 132nd anniversary of the
Lucknow United Church was
celebrated on Oct. 16 with. special
services both morning and evening.
Guest speaker for the day was
Rev. Carol Ferguson -Kirby, with
special music at both services. 1
In the morning the choir sang and
Joanne Vanderveen contributed two
solos.•In the evening, musical num-
bers were provided by Sunday
Sonshine, Basement Brass (a group
of Gord Cayley's enthusiastic
former band members) and the
choir.
In the Lucknow Presbyterian
Church, the senior Sunday School
class, with some assistance, honored
World Food Day with a soup and
sandwich lunch for members of the
congregation and were able to
contribute $250 to help alleviate
world hunger. •
WI looks at computers
and resulting changes
Twelve members of the Lucknow
Women's Institute gathered•at the
town hall for tea prior to their Oc-
tober meeting.
. Following the usual opening the
business portion was held. The
group had made a donation to the
Seniors Centre in 'Wingham.
Rollcall was answered by the .

first teacher and what, if anything,
happened to the school. This was a
very interesting discussion,
Mabel Whitby reported on thc
rally at Underwood that she and
Edna Young had attended.

The Education and Cultural Af-
fairs part of the program involved
Mrs. Young, who read a poem, and
Dorothy Brown who did a topic on
computers and how they will
change our way 'of living • in =the
future.
Rita Gilmore read Indian Summer
and Harvest Prayer.
Mrs. Brown favored with two
piano instrumentals.
A nice thank you letter was
received from Stella Tilbrook, a WI
member who had moved away this
past summer.
Mrs. Young brought thc meeting
to a close with a contest.'
