Erringtons return from visit in Surrey, B.C.
Jim and Margaret Errington have
returned from a 10 day visit with
daughter. Cindy and Bill McConnell,
,grand daughter Erin and Cousin
Marjorie Andreasen in Surrey,
British Columbia.
They flew to Calgary, where they
wore welcomed by Rev. Garth and
Rev. Orilla Bogart and son Stephen
to the .Big Valley Manse and Lake
Rochon cottage. World Wide Com-
munion was served in Big Valley
and Erskine by Rev. Garth and by
Rev. Orilla at Morrie and Munson
charges, which are located near the
famed Drumheller Badlands.
A tourist attraction was a mock
hold - up of an excursion train,
engineered by steam, . travelling
from Stealer, , Alberta, through the
Valley.
Travelling from Edmonton, by
train the Erringtons enjoyed a spec-
tacular view of the mountains retur-
ning by air from Vancouver.
. Wilfred and Marjorie Pentland
had 32 members of their immediate
family on Thanksgiving Day to
celebrate, W ilfred's 80th birthday.
The family arrived from London,
Toronto, Tillsonburg, Kincardine,
Ingersoll, Belgrave, Goderich and
Dungannon. Among those present
were two great grandchildren.
Visitors this weekend were Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Reed of Port Col-
borne, Ben Pentland of London, and
Mr. and Mrs Walter Hobbs, of New
Liskeard.
A large crowd attended the
benefit dance in Ripley for Brian
and Jeannette Courtney, who lost
their barns by fire. Presentations
were made by Mike Njcholson and
Shawn Dalton. Music was supplied.
by Boyd's Orchestra. Special thanks
to all who helped make this a very
merhorable evening.
Phyllis Chapman of Fredericton,
New Brunswick visited her sisters
Jean and Russell Phillips and Irene
and Bob Markham during the past
week. They spent Thanksgiving
with the former's daughter Rosalene
and Herb Barger and family in
Burlington.
There were 11 tables of euchre in
play at the Dungannon Senior
Centre on Oct. 5. High winners
were Lois Cunningham and
Raymond Haggitt with low going to
Ella Hand and Jack Bosman. On
Oct. 12 there were seven tables in
play with first place winners Fred
Crawford, and a tie between Grace
Cartwright and Lois Haggitt, with
low prizes claimed by Tom Culbert
and Dorothy Cuyler.
Congratulations to Evelyn Er=
rington who celebrated her 85th
birthday on. Saturday. A delicious
dinner was brought to her house by
Jean and George Errington and
grandson Bill, along with birthday
cake and ice cream for all to enjoy
as friends, relatives and neighbors
called to wish her well during open
house in the afternoon.
Dungannon seniors attended open
DUNGANNON
house at the Blyth United Church
honoring Harvey Sillib's 90th
birthday celebration on Sunday
afternoon. ,
A good crowd enjoyed the old
Lyme dance held at the seniors
centre on Oct. 7. Music was by The
Country Ramblers, formerly known
as The Purple Grovers.
Five Dungannon Seniors attended
the zone $ United Senior Citizens
of Ontario 19th annual fall rally on
Oct. 13 at the Seaforth Legion Hall.
Dungannon's president Jean Phil-
lips is 'zone 8 USCO president and
presided over the meeting. Rev.
Bruce Cook of Seaforth United
Church was .guest speaker.
Euchre was played with Belle
Mole winning a draw with Teresa
Courtney for the most games won.
Belle also won a share the 'wealth
and a door prize draw. Other Dun-
gannon winners were Jean Phillips,
Aileen Trommcr, and Teresa
Courtney.
Sympathy to Doreen and Bob
McConnick on the death of
Doreen's nephew Bryan McBeth of
Rothsay, 47, Bob's aunt, May
Grummett, passed away on Oct. 15
in St. Catharines in her 89th year.
Modern square dance classes '

and Betty and family for refresh-

Ross and Jeff Brindley, Scott
Rivett, Dan Gregory, Pat and Harry
Boyle and Greg Stevenson have
returned from a 10 day moose
hunting trip in .the Thunder Bay
area. They camped in the bush and
were able to bring home three
moose.
Ross and .Mary Ann Brindley of
Ross' Country Carpets and Kitchens
are building a new 30' x 64'

storage stied.
Allan and Irma Reed. of Port
Colborne visited on Friday and
Saturday with Dungannon friends
and also with Belle Mole in L ut k-
now.
Harvey and Beck Culbert attended
the retirement party for Bill Taylor
and his wife Helen held at the
Stanley Township Recreation Hall,
Varna on Saturday. Bill has been
road superintendent of Stanley
Township for 44 years.
Emily Michaud of Calgary, is
spending two weeks with her twin
daughters Jeannette Courtney and
Annette Daley. She attended the
benefit dance at Ripley for Brian
and Jeannette.
Liddles move to new home
Mrs. and Mrs. Allen Lamon and
children spent Thanksgiving .with
their families in Chesley.
Dorothy Engel of Point Clark,
Mary Black of Ripley and Lorraine
McGuire visited with Catherine
Reihl in the Zurich Nursing Home
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Liddle and
family recently moved from the 2nd
concession to their new home in
Kincardine.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Black and girls
had Thanksgiving dinner with Mary
Black of Ripley.
