for food entrepreneurs
On Oct. 13, WRED (Women and
Rural Economic Development) will
bring together entrepreneurs from
every link in the food sector to
meet people who are using an ex-
citing new approach to product
development and marketing.
The workshop will take place in
Stratford at the Kinsmen Hall at the
Fairground from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
It will offer participants a chance to
work through the model and apply
it to their own situation. Display
space will be available to all par-
ticipants.
The morning will feature a
keynote speech from Leslie Schaller
of ACEnet in rural Ohio. The after-
noon will feature a panel, chaired
by Diane O'Shea: Representatives
from Stratford Chef's School will
tell what chefs need from food
suppliers.
The cost for registration Is $50,
including lunch. For more infor-

Dorothy Obcrle, R.R. 4, Hanover,
will be the Dairy Educator for
Bruce County. Dorothy and her
husband, Brian, operate a dairy
farm in the Carlsruhe area.
Dorothy will be ' visiting the
schools in Bruce County providing
information, on all aspects of the
dairy industry. Bookings are now
being taken. these can be arranged
through the Co-ordinator, Inez
Fenton, R.R. 3, Port Elgin, 519-

This quilt that tells a story was one of over 250 displayed at the
Five Star Quilters Guild show in Teeswater last weekend. The
Guild hosts the show every .other year giving quitters the
chance to complete new pieces of work, which is one of the
criteria for displaying. This quilt titled "Retirement School
House" is owned by Betty Millen and was quilted by Marg
Hedley and Pinkerton ladies. The signatures Include those from
students at all schools where a retired teacher had taught

Winners of the 6,7 and 8 year old Lucknow and area softball tournament were the Lucknow
Raptors beating out the Lucknow Rookies by one run in the bottom of the fifth inning. The
Raptors had one loss all season going Into the tournament against the Rookies In the final game
