When Ian and Jean Montgomery were in Nova Scotia recently, they thought the man at. the next table in the restaurant looked quite familiar. It turned out to be Russell Treleaven with his girl friend and her family. Russell asked to be remembered to all his friends in Lucknow. Cody and Cory Hamilton had a unique experience this summer when they attended the Bob Johnson Hockey School, in Aspen, Colorado. One of the organizers of the school is Al Godfrey, scout for the Mighty Ducks and also grandfather of Cory Hamilton. Accompanying the boys on the trip were their families Doug, Sherry, Candice and Clint and Paul, Andrea and Kaitlin Hamilton. Cory Hamilton and Cody Hamilton spent a week In Aspen, Colorado attending the Bob Johnson Hockey School. They worked hard, learned a lot of hockey tips and had a lot of fun. BIRTHS Adams - Martin - David and Col- leen, of R.R. 5, Brussels, are happy to announce the arrival of their son, Tavis Russell Adams, on Aug. 6, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, weighing 9 lbs. 2 oz. He is a weeP laymate for Tom, Dale, Tara and Jessica. Hakkers-Hudson Ian and Julie are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Chantal Nicole, born July 27, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz. Spoiling privileges go to first time grandparents George and Bonnie Hudson, Goderich, and second time grandparents, Bill and Joanne Wilkins, Kinloss township. LUCKNOW -'I by Mildred Loree Alex Mowbray of Pinecrest Manor will be celebrating his 104th birthday on Aug. 25 and Isabelle England will be 91 on Aug. 28. Happy birthday and congratulations to each of these celebrants. Wedding bells were ringing Satur- day for Trina Humphrey and Steve Huffman, who were married in the Lucknow United Church, with the reception at the Community Centre. Also on Saturday, the reception for Joyce Lane and Kelly Shepherd was held at the Lucknow Legion as they had exchanged wedding vows at Kinlough. Enjoying last week at the United Church camp at Silver Lake were Erin Moran, Cindy . Willits and Janette Sutton. This week Regan Moran, Melanie Willits and Ashton Chamney are there for half the week. Gordon and Bernice Johnstone had John and Janet, of Ajax, home for the weekend. On Sunday, Bob, Marion, Matthew and Olivia McComb arrived to spend a few days before school starts. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry van der Klippe had his sister, Henny Geurtsen and son Henk and fiance, Martina visiting from Holland. Seven tables of shoot were in play at the Drop in Centre last week. Winners were Muriel Moffat, Harold -Gardner, Rita Gilmore and Cliff Menary. Kay McCormick had the most shoots. Shower best wishes on Joyce Lane A number from here attended the bridal shower for Joyce Lane at the Purple Grove Community Centre on Sunday afternoon. Tammara Hodgins left this week for Hong Kong where she will be teaching this 'year. We wish her every success in her new work. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Shepherd who were married in the Presbyterian Church, on Saturday afternoon, with a reception in the Lucknow Legion Hall. Melinda Donnan spent this week at Circle Square Ranch at Brantford and returned home on Saturday. Visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. Peter van Dam were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Crawford of Walker- ton, Mr. and Mrs. John Snell of Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Pieter van Dam of Strathroy, and camping at the van Dam's are Mrs. van Dam's aunt (Shirley. Freeman) Davis and her friend Marilyn Martin both of Kingston. Saturday guests with the van Dam's were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Freeman of Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harrison of Tilsonburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Snyder of Sunset Beach. Mr. and "Mrs. Scott Walsh of Kincardine spent Monday evening at the Myerscough home here. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Teixeira left this week on their return trip home to Vancouver after visiting with her mother Agnes Hodgins and other family members here. Bessie Maulden and her sister Jean Phillips visited on Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Lane of Lucknow. Rev. and Mrs. James Palmer of Vancouver visited on Sunday with Edna and May Boyle. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bushell and Rachael, accompanied by Allan Grant, provided special music at the Wingham Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning and it was on the radio on Sunday evening. Kby. May Boyle INLOUGH Mr. and Mrs. Jack .Barr and Joan's mother, Mrs. Gilbert Hamil- ton, and her sister Betty Hamilton returned home during the week after a holiday at Manitoulin Island. WMS The Presbyterian WMS met on Wednesday evening at the home of Bessie Maulden with eight members present. Isabel Thompson presided and read a poem "Our Garden" and led in prayer. The hymn Bringing in the Sheaves was sung and the pur- pose repeated. Rollcall was "something new in our garden." The worship was taken by Isabel Thompson on "forgiveness" which is a gift that we all need - morally, physically and' spiritually -. Jesus always forgives and does not con- demn. Erlma Haldenby had the study on global economics reading "Content with whatever comes". Lby Kae Webster OCHALSH In last week's news about the death of Beuy Vilet, l it was neglected to say that she is survived by a son Tom and a daughter Betty Jo and her husband Joe and grandchildren. James, Cecil and Kae Webster were in Seaforth on Saturday visiting with Bob, Barbara, Bonnie and Beth Palin. On Wednesday afternoon, Kae Webster had Bob Larnke of Water- loo and Lola Craigie of Bronte Sunday visitors with Gordon and Nora Robb were Ed, Janice and Daryl McClutcheon of Lion's Head. Sherry Hodges, daughter of Pen- ny Hodges and the late Terry Hodges graduated from Brock University in St. Catherines with her Honors Degree in Sociology. Sherry is presently completing a summer contract position with the Huron County Housing Authority. Congratulations Sher- ry! Love from Mom and Tanya. Ed te Raa graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering on May 28, 1994. Ed is the son of Jerry and Alice te Raa, R.R. 1, Ripley. He is employed at Zepf Technologies, Kitchener. Well done, Ed! Congratulations from your families. Gibbons - Mitchler Wayne Gibbons and Doris Mitchler were married in an outdoor ceremony on July 16, 1994 with Rev. Chris Morgan officiating.
