• Page 10 — Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, August 24, 1994 Heavy rains prove Dungannon needs new drainage system After a heavy down pour of rain and severe thunder and lightening storm on Saturday afternoon, Steve Clarance was seen canoeing on Ross and Mary Ann Brindley's front lawn in six to eight inches or more of water that had backed up along the flooded East side of Clara Street to Albert Street (Concession 5) where it was blocked. The bubbling drain couldn't take the excess water away. Dungannon does need a new drainage system. Joe and Teresa Courtney spent last week in Burlington with their son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Anna Courtney and granddaughter Sarah. They all spent sometime in Niagara Falls, New York. They had a guided tour of the Niagara Power Project, one of the worlds' largest hydro electric power plants where Eric is employed as an engineer with Westinghouse Canada Inc. They also visited Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and Marineland. Returning to Burlington they visited with Joe's brother Fred Courtney and daughter Theresa Cornack, and NOWDEN INSUTAti0N RES. • FARM • IND. Rene and Sharon Arsenault have expanded their parking lot beside their new shop "Huron and Bruce Machinery". They now have four employees. Donnybrook 4-H Leaders Joanne Smyth and June Robinson presented awards to Charlotte Drennan, Jen- nifer Robinson and Jape Smyth for. the completion of six projects, completing 12 projects was Donna Fielder and Christine Hatherley.. Heather Robinson has completed 18 projects and her sister Patricia Robinson, 24. June Robinson, grandmother of the ttlree sisters, has been involved actively with 4-H work) since 1973. The three latest 4-H projects were "Batter Up" a cookery course; Sew Easy home sewing and Exploring Photography. These awards were presented at the Community barbecue at St. Augustine Church, sponsored by the West Wawanosh Landfill Coalition, Group on Friday. The weather man. was kind. ' The group was overwhelmed with the attendance when Harry J. Boyle was honored with the unveiling of a bronze plaque. Greetings were extended from Reeve Bob Hallam West Wawanosh Township, and Members of Par- liament Paul Steckle and Paul KHaarpry J. Boyle, prominent radio !broadcaster and author, was accom- panied by his wife of 57 years Marion McCaffery, the former St. Augustine School teacher. '
