Employment centre placed
575 in summer positions
With the assistance of many area
employers and householders, the
Canada Employment Centre for
Students has had a very successful
summer. Many students •have
found positions through the service
and employers were pleased with
the service that was provided.
As of the end ' of JUnc, 575
students were placed in summer
jobs, which is an increase of 48 per
cent over last year's numbers.
A total of 961 students registered
with the centres, which gave each
of the centres a vast resource of
qualified and hard working students
. to call upon when positions were
taken.
Each of the summer employment
officers and supervisors wish to
thank all communities for being so
supportive this year. It was
encouraging for students to realize
that their communities supported
them and their interests in finding
summer employment.
