A visitor to Lucknow had a frightening experience last week when a mechanical failure caused
her car to first accelerate quickly up the north hill of the Knechtel parking lot where she was
attempting to park. When the driver put the car in reverse, It accelerated to the rear, collided with
another vehicle entering the lot from the east, continued In reverse over three cement parking
guides and the stop sign on the corner of Campbell and Stauffer streets, where the vehicle was
finally stopped. There appeared to be no injuries at the time of the accident. (Pat Livingston
