Get well wishes go out to two in hospital
A speedy recovery is wished to
Eldon Austin who was admitted to
the Wingham and District Hospital
on July 14, and to Mark. Chilton
who was injured in a two car col-
lision • on Highway 21, north of
Goderich last Tuesday. Mark is in
the South Street, Campus, Victoria
Hospital, London.
Congratulations and best wishes
to Carl and Fran Riegling who
celebrated their 50th anniversary on
Saturday at the home of their
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara
and Ambrose Redmond. The 10:30
Mass ' at St. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge was for their inten-
tions, followed by coffee and fel-
lowship in the church basement.
A large crowd attended the storm
sewer and basement drainage
meeting held at the Senior Centre'
July 12.
Project engineer Tpm Pridtam of
R. J. Burnside and Associates;
drainage superintendent Joe Han-
nah; Dennis Merrall, engineer from
the county; Bob Hallam, West
Wawanosh reeve and Rick Foster,
councillor were on hand to explain
this good plan for basement
drainage which is badly needed.
Members, of the Kingsbridge
Catholic Women's League joined
DUNGANNON
with other CWL -members across
Ontario at the annual pilgrimage to
the Shrine at St. Mary's, on July
13.
Approximately 45 family mem-
bers of the late Joseph and Grace
(Westrope) Courtney gathered for
the annual 'Courtney reunion on
Sunday at the Lions Park, Blyth.
Families were present from Jackson
and Hudsonville, Michigan; Glen-
coe, St. Mary's, Burlington, Clin-
ton, Blyth, Goderich, Lucknow, and
Dungannon.
The oldest member present was
Vivian Hogan, Lucknow; the
youngest was Sarah Marie Courtney
of Burlington.
'Plans were made to change the
1995 reunion to the third Saturday
instead of Sunday in July. Games,
races and swimming were enjoyed
following the bounteous pot luck
meal.
Congratulations to John Foran on
the birth of a new grandson, Craig
Francis, born July 4, in Goderich to
his daughter Rosemary and John
Martin.

Brindley who celebrated her 89th
birthday on July 15; to Florence
Shackleton whose birthday was July
12 and to George Cardiff (today)
July 20.
Fred Courtney returned home on
Sunday following the Courtney
reunion after spending the week
with his brother Joe. Other visitors'
during the week'were Joe and Betty
Judge of Jackson, Michigan, .Gary
Courtney of Blyth, Eric and Anna
Courtney and daughter Sarah of
Burlington.
Anita Mitra, residing in 'the his-
torical Dungannon school house, .is
appearing in the modernized Pas-
sion play -"Jesus Christ SuperStar,"
which opens Aug. 14 at the Roxy
Theatre in Owen Sound.
Jim and. Margaret Errington
visited family and friends in the
Cambridge area over the weekend.
On their• return they had the over,.
night pleasure of two active
grandchildren, Jana and Shane
Burns, while their . parents
celebrated their anniversary dinner
in Grand Bend,
While in Cambridge, Olive Blake
was visited at St. Luke's ,.Home.
Olive still remains her.cheerful self
and,wishes to be remembered to her
friends. A recent visitor with Olive
was A.J. Sherwood, who brought
her up -to date on , home town hap-
penings.
July 9 • was the 90th birthday of
Alma Fines a sister of the late Cecil
Blake of Creer. •
Alma is actively engagedin
church and community 'affairs in
Toronto.
A pot luck supper on July. 10,
hosted by Harold and Helen ..Er-
tington. at .Fisherman's Cove, was
enjoyed by .,the Er-
rington/MacDonald families. ..It
supposedly was the observance of
the family July birthdays, but
secretly was the preentation..of a
money tree to Laurie . Day and
David Errington, honoring them on
their approaching marriage Aug. 13.
On July 1, 15 trail riders. mounted
their horses at the farm of Roger
and Elsie Pannabecker, winding
their way through bush trails and
sideroads. They ,,knapsacked their
lunch at the home of Amish friends -
in St. .-Helen's. Beside local . area
riders, others came from Tennessee,
'Pennsylvania, Ohio and Sarnia. •'
Herman and Claudine Vanwym-
berghe of Belgium, visited former
friends in the Auburn/Dungannon
area recently. They formerly farmed
where John Bos now hal a thriving
dairy operation. .
Belle Mole and -her sister Doris
Nicholson celebrated their -birthday
July 11 by dining at the .Family
Restaurant in ' Kitchener. Belle en-
joys three years seniority over her
sister.
Kelly Brindley and Brenda
Schneider hosted a miscellaneous
shower on July 10 honoring Arigela
Glenn, whose marriage to Elwyn
Brindley takes place Aug. 27.
Angela was also honored on July
17 at a . Wall/Thompson family
shower at the home of her aunt,
Corabelle Danahy in Kincardine.
' Robert J. and Mary Ellen (Lynn)
Brindley, Lake View Farms, en-
joyed a visit with, her brother Frank
Lynn ' and son Andrew. from
Kitchener. Frank, the son of Lillian
Lynn, Goderich, is a
reporter/announcer for CKCO TV
in Kitchener.
Hazel Webster, a Maitland Manor
resident, was honored at a belated
91st birthday, smorgasbord supper,
at the home of her daughter Et-
tabelle and Bill Bradley, Goderich
on Saturday. Her actual birth date is
Apr. 27.,
Friends and relatives, numbering
abut 50, included Hazel's 87 year
old brother Harvey Alton of
Braemar Lodge, ,Wingham and
surprise visitors Rev. Karl and Rev:
Hiedi Sievert, Kitchener. '
Daughter Lois Thomas of Bolton,
served the decorated cake with ice
cream.
The Bradley's three daughters
were also present, Brenda of
Cambridge, Fay of London and
