Alex and Alexandra McGilvery. Rev. McGilvery will conduct the service at Dungannon/Donnybrook churches on July 3. Nile and Trinity will be closed for the month of July. Please attend the worship services at the officiating churches. Katherine McNee presented a 13 year Sunday School award to Ten- nille Cranston and an 11 year per- fect attendance award to Terry Cranston. Jeff and Alex McNee received six year awards, Cassandra and Katrina Ulch two years, and Alex Garriot a one year diploma. Supply teachers - Dorothy Bere, Jocelyn Logtenberg and Marybelle Cranston - received carnations, Regular Sunday School teachers - Amy Glenn, Tennille Cranston, Gail Ulch and Katherine Ulch - were presented with lovely floral hanging baskets. St. Joseph's School, Kingsbridge, held its Grade 8 graduation on June 23, beginning with. Mass celebrated by 'Father Reitzel, with the Grade 8s taking part. The banquet was held in the church basement. Mistress of ceremonies was Jane Whaling, principal. Louise Martin, school trustee spoke . and the valedictorian address was given by Mark Van Diepenbeek. The class of '94 graduates includes: Drew Black, Jonathan Chilton, Greg Courtney, Evan.Hick- ey; Josh Martin, Benedict Ritgen and Mark Van Diepenbeek. Each graduate was presented with their diploma, a year book New Tes- taments and a gift from St. Joseph's and St. Augustine Catholic Women's Leagues. Class photos and award winners will be published in next week's issue of the newspaper. Jim Nelson was transferred by ambulance from St. Joseph's Hospital, -London to Wingham and District Hospital, on Jtine 20. He has been in the London hospital since May 26 where he had major surgery. ' Congratulations to Jean and Bryon Black who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 21. Harold Gibson of North Fort Meyers, Florida, visited with JOe and Teresa Courtney during the week. DUNGANNON A large crowd attended the Belgrave Community Centre last Sunday to listen and dance to al- most seven hours of continuous old tyme music supplied by violin players, with banjo, guitar, accor- dion, mouth organ and piano ac- companiment. David •Chittick was master of ceremonies. Congratulations to Dungannon's Don Nicholson who played the guitar and to Tom "Culbert who delighted the audience with violin selections. Over 200 tickets were sold for the. beef on a bun and salad supper. The West Wawanosh Landfill Coalition group met Friday evening in the St. Augustine hall with about 50 persons in attendance. Reports from various committees were read and discussed. Petitions were received from Dungannon Senior Citizens with approximately 70 individual signed letters, and from the Amish community with 70 names. A petition is being circulated for the concerned citizens , of West Wawanosh. Anyone interested In signing can call 529-7129, 529- 1125, 529-2417 or go to the township offices. A horseshoe tournament was held at St. Helen's Snowmobile Club house in conjunction with their summer steak barbecue on Satur- day., Congratulations to a former Dun- gannonite, Maxine Maize, and her partner Bob Jewell, who were awarded gold medals, in the euchre competition, at the 1994 Tri -County Senior Games, held in Strathroy June 20 and 21. Unfortunately they are unable to participate in the provincial games ACTIFEST in Sudbury Aug; 22 to 25. The bronze medalists will at- tend. Jim and Margaret Errington spent Father's Day and Jim's birthday, June 20, at the home of his daughter Sandra and Ken Davidson, in.. Komoka. Daughter Audrey. The Mitchell team won the gold medals and the Varna/Zurich team, placing second in the playoffs, were bronze' medal. recipients. Two challenging days were enjoyed by the many contes- tants and visitors. Many out-of-town folk attended the memorial service on Sunday at Dungannon Cemetery with lay minister Sharon Wurm conducting the worship service. Wilma Clark accompanied the South Kinloss ladies trio, comprised of Ruth Bell, Rena Forster and Shirley Colwell in the presentation of Majesty and Without Hini. A minutes silence was observed in memory of Mary Garniss, Mary Stewart, Esther Dennis, Lily Rivett, Clifford Kilpatrick, Gregory Bauer, Harvey Sproul, Benson Finnigan, Earl Mcllwain, Lillian Turner, Robert McAllister, Wilmer Rut- ledge, Gordon Montgomery, Dell Dumin, Terry Hodges, Rhena Pentland and Chritina Finnigan.
