Country music fan enlarges autograph collection.
Bev Ohm has returned from an
All-Star Bus tour to FanFare at
Nashville,- Tennessee, which
featured Western.,Star, Performers
such as Clint Blck, .Vince Gill,
Ricky Lynn Gregg and many other
notables. Bev is an avid autograph
seeker. She personally met and
received about 30 signatures.
Sincere sympathy to Florence and
Benson Shackleton on the death of
her sister, Mrs. Wilmer (Pearl)
llarcourt op Juric 11 at the Braemar
Retirement Centre, Wingham. She
had celebrated her 79th birthday on
June 6. Pastor Pat Benawayof-
ficiated at the funeral service at
McBurney Funeral Home, Win-
gham on June 14. Interment in the.
Wingham Cemetery'.
Congratulations' to Elizabeth
Foran and Laura Stanley who made
their First Holy Communion at St.
Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge on
June 19, during the 10:30 Mass.
A large crowd attended the bridal
shower for Mary Anne Franken in
St. Augustine's Church hall on June
15. Her marriage to Bob Minim is
planned for July 2 in St. Augustine
with reception at Blyth.
Congratulations to Wilfred and
Marion Austin on the arrival of
another granddaughter born to their
son Bob and Deb Austin' on June
15, in 'St Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don. Jamie Amanda weighed in at 7
lbs. 10 oz. and is a wee sister for
Hayley. Mother and daughter were
able to return home on Friday.
Several from the Dungannon and
Kingsbridge areas took part in the
Goderich and District Pro Life
sponsored walk on a very hot,
sultry Saturday, June 18, starting
from the Knights -of Columbus Hall,
Goderich. Proceeds will go to the
Educational Pro Life Ministry of
Goderich and District Pro Life "The
Life Centre."
Congratulations to Harvey and
Kathleen (Gibson) Congram who
celebrated their 45th wedding an-
niversary on Saturday, June 18..
Several from this area enjoyed the
Strawberry Festival at the Lueknow
Presbyterian Church on Wednesday,
June 15. Both the 5 and the 6:30
p.m. sittings were sold out and
some were refused • admission
because of not having advance
tickets.
A large'crowd attended the stag
and doe for Sharon Doherty and
Greg Lajsaine at ,the Goderich
Arena on Friday.
There were eight tables in play at
the euchre card party at the Senior
Centre last Wednesday. High ladies
prize was shared by Margaret Er-.
rington and Gloria Pearson. Low
lady was Margaret Young.. High
man with a score of 82 points was
Tom • Culbert with Joe Courtney
winning the 1pw.
Parents, grandparents and friends
attended graduation ceremonies on
DUNGANNON
last Thursday, for 24 three -and
four -year-olds who attended Dun-
gannon Play School 1993-1994.
Co-ordinator and teacher Dawn
Tucker led the children in a short
entertaining program of songs and
drills and presented each with a
certificate and either a black or
white hat. The white hats will
return in September 1994.
Hot dogs, cookies and. squares
and a cold drink were enjoyed by
all on a very hot humid day:
Dungannon Union Explorers held
their Mother and Daughter banquet
at the United Church on June 15,
with 23 present.
Red stars and attendance spoons
were given to Angela Schultz and
Kim Fielder, Brigette Bollinger
received a blue star. Gold stars,
auendance, spoons, "E" Pins and
graduation , certificates were
presented to Julie Mole, Jennifer
Robinson, Stacey Wilson, Debbie
Patterson and Jane Smyth. •
CGIT leader Liz Irwin invited
them to move up to CGIT.
Saturday visitors with Bob and
Doreen McCormick were Bob's
sisters Marion Perry of Cambridge
and Helen and her husband John
Laidlaw, ' of Creighton, Sas-
katchewan.
On June 15 the Dungannon Mes-
senger Group met ,at the home of
their leader, Dorothy. Bere. This
was the last meeting of the season..
Guests were welcome ' with each
member.
• To celebrate the year's events,
they' had a party. Games and ac-
tivities were enjoyed with the help
of their assistant Kathy Gutmanis
and other" volunteers. Games
included the `Private Hunt" for
gold nuggets and a "Fish for a Sur -
prize."
' Afterwards, the warm evening
was cooled down with a snack and
a cold drink.
A silly story concluded the party,
in which adjectives described the
group . members' moms, their
leaders and the activities and events
they had done -in the past year.
On amore. serious note, all mem-
bers were thanked for • their
contributions. over the .year and for
their excellent .attendance. An ap-
preciation was extended to, their
parents also, for their support Have
a Happy Summer!

Edmonton, a former pastor in Dun-
gannon from 1951 - 1957, renewed
