Prospective projects -must be submitted to the museum on June 28, from 1' to 5 p.m. Instructors John and Hazel Higgins will cal- culate the ' supplies needed and assess its suitability for the` workshop. Advanced registration is required; $30 for museum members and $35 for the general public. Steam and Sail Steam and Sail opens on July 1, when artist Rod Adam will have a collection of his historical water- colors hanging in the Extensions Gallery until Sept. 5. His paintings depict the local marine history based on existing scenes' as well as historical photographs. Spirit of the Inland Sea Spirit of the Inland Sea, an original multi -media musical event, debuts July 16 and 1.7 at the Museum. Board of Education has reached the limit of its ratepayers' ability to' foot. the tax bill. ' Gurr . said ' Southampton's tax arrears reached 11 per cent last year, up from 5 per cent 1989. Gurr indicated school taxes play a big role in those figures, and urged - the board to follow town council's lead in looking for ways to cut costs. Canadian play with music tells the story of Beautiful - Joe, Meaford's most famous canine resident. Joe was horribly abused by a cruel .master, and then rescued by a loving family who nursed him • back to health. His life has been chronicled in a book originally published in 1894, and remains in print today.
