These trees were placed there by the Parent's Committee for the Guiding Association in Lucknow, in memory of two young ladies who died tragically - Kristen Owen in 1987 and Michelle Andrew in 1991. Both Kristen and Michelle were actively involved in Guiding in Lucknow. A memorial stone was placed between the two trees with the quote "When you've looking wide, look wider still" by Baden Powell inscribed on the stone. Baden Powell was the founder of the Scouting movement. Kristen and Michelle lived up to the expectations of this quote. Because of their untimely deaths they were unable to reach their full potential. These trees will be a constant reminder,' to those who knew and loved, them, of the en- thusiasm and determination that both of these girls possessed. .4 • Two flowering crab trees were planted in Caledonian Park last week In memory of the late Kristen Owen and Michelle Andrew.
