Queen Stain Kincardine. In -order to
raise awareness of the many skilled
and motivated students looking for
• work this summer we will be run-
ning a Student of the Week feature.
Our first student is Lucas Mulder of
R.R. 5, Lucknow.
Lucas is currently' enrolled in
Grade 11 at the Kincardine District •
Secondary School. After completing
high school he plans to enter . a
mechanical or civil engineering
program. Lucas is an active student
who enjoys sports, such as hockey
and track.
• Ideally, Lucas would like a
position with a business this sum-
mer. He has already proven his
reliability and willingness to work
during the four summers he spent
working on. a farm. He has also
demonstrated an ability to work
independently, handle money, and
interact with the public as a Dicki
Dee ice cream 'salesperson. His
competence in dealing with, the
public was also shown during his
public 'relations work for a real
estate company: These experiences
make Lucas qualified for a position
with a business.
However, like most of the 150
students already registered at our
office; Lucas is flexible and willing
to do virtually any type of work. He
considers window cleaning and
painting as being two of his special-
ties. .
If you have a job for Lucas or
any other student; no matter how
big or small the task, please contact
the Kincardine office at 396-5787
or the Goderich office at 524-2744.

Emke applauded council's
decision to move its waste
management master plan ahead on
finding ways to implement that
goal. -
"The faster we can see the plan
implemented, the more we can
bring the public and municipalities
on stream to recycle, reduce and
reuse," he said.
Emke also has some good news
on the market prices for the
recyclable product the Southampton
plant ships.

have gone from $33 a tonne to $50
a tonne. Tin cans are fetching $5 a
tonne more, aluminum about $300
a tonne more, and recycled plastic
brings $38 more per tonne that a
year ago.
Emke said the real bright spot is
cardboard, which fetches $80-100 a
tonne compared to $35 a tonne a
year ago.
"Every municipality could look at
that," Emke said, offering free
processing for cardboard delivered
to the' BASWRA plant door.
"It cuts volume by 20 per cent if
you keep it out of the landfill."
