Several Dungannon and area folk
helped pack the Blyth. Memorial
Community Hall on Sunday after-
noon, to listen to North America's ,
only championship fiddle team,
• Graham and Eleanor Townsend,
their son' Gray Townsend, Jr., and
the Boys from the Bruce, Charlie
Steinhoff and Jerry McNulty.
Graham, a five time undefeated
North American fiddle champion,
has won over 50 trophies and
awards, recorded 35 solo albums
and composed over 250 tunes.
His wife, the former Eleanor. Reed
was born in Dungannon. She was
the first woman to win the
Canadian Old - Time Fiddling
Championship in Shelburne.
Eleanor is a self taught violinist.
Records were her teachers, - the
records of Ted Landey, Al Cherny,
Don Messer and Graham
Townsend.
She spends most of her time
teaching and writing. One of the
songs she wrote "The Dungannon
Waltz", a beautiful' waltz, received
one of many standing ovations.

The Knights of Columbus, Father
Michael MacCormack Council No.
. 9484 of Kingsbridge, St. Augustine
and Lucknow held a communion
breakfast at St. 'Augustine on Sun-
day, April 10. Two very.interesting
speakers were Theresa Weiler, the
lady who walked across Canada for
Pro Life and Grant Chisholm. Both
of these people have received
wonderful cures of their health
problems.
Come to Kingsbridge on Sunday,
Apr. 24 to hear The Waterloo
Regional Police Male Chorus, Rene
Stalenhd"ef and the Kingsbridge
Choir. Proceeds are for the building
fund.

We have been served well in the
pulpit, with lay ministers Sharon
Wurm and Micheline Montreuil.
Diane Park, who works at the
Lucknow Medical Centre, whom we,
all are familiar with attended the
25th anniversary of her graduating
class of 1969, at University
Hospital London on Saturday. This
occasion was held in the library, in
the form of a pot luck dinner.
Krystal and Joe Panzavecchia and
mother Glenda, of London had the
pleasure of grandpa, and grandma,
John and Marina Park, visit over
the weekend.
June Pyette, of Town and Country
Home Makers, was featured speaker
at the Dungannon Senior Citizen,
pot luck supper on Apr. 13.
Eight tables of euchre followed
with John Harris and Raymond
Hagitt tying with a score. of 65 for
high. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Phillips
were recognized for their playing
ability as well as Aileen Trommer.
Early Saturday morning, April 16,
eight members and three leaders of
Dungannon CGIT travelled to Fer-
gus for a provincial rally.
Two hundred and fifty girls from
across the province enjoyed singing,
Bible study, crafts, line -dancing and
a scavenger hunt of the town of
Fergus.
The program for Sattfrday evening
included a banquet, more singing
and a presentation by the Ryder II
Singers.
The members were billeted in
private homes throughout Fergus.
On Sunday morning a worship
service prepared by the CGIT girls
was held in Melville United
Church, Fergus. After a trip to the
Fergus market, everyone returned
home on Sunday, afternoon.
Alex and Maris Garnock had the
company of grandpa Bruce. and
grandma Irene Fisher of Camlachie,
while mummy, Mary Garrioch,
accompanied the CGIT group as
leader along with leader •Kay Log-
tenberg and Elizabeth. Irvin.
Donnans return home.
from Florida holiday
Pastor and Mrs. R. Donnan and -
Melinda returned home Sunday
from a nice holiday at Lakeland,
Florida.
Tammara Hodgins of North Bay
spent the week at her home here.
Mr: and Mrs.. D. House and
family of Ajax spent -the weekend
with : their grandmother Agnes
Hodgins and helped her celebrate
her birthday on Sunday. -

relatives of the late Gordon. James,
son of Edward and Ethel (Hodgins)
James, who passed away on Satur-
day at Braemar Retirement home at
Wingham. The funeral was held on
Monday afternoon at the MacKen-
zie and McCreath Funeral 'Home
with burial in Greenhill Cemetery

Mr. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson
were Monday evening dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott of
Ripley. It was Lorraine's birthday
and their wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Jim Thompson who has been
a patient in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, was able to come to the Win
gham and District Hospital' on
Tuesday of last week. We send our
best get well wishes to her and
hope she will soon be able to return
home again.
