Genealogists. learn research process The research process was the topic, of the March meeting of the Bruce and Grey Brandi of the Ontario Genealogical Society. The speaker was Ken Young who discussed the five steps to the process. First you identify all known family information. When this is displayed; on' the proper forms such as a`pedigrec chart and f, nily group sheet you can then decide what information you want to know about the family. You then p pare a research log listing the research objective. You may choose to look through genealogical records which may be either complied or original records. At other times you may be looking through background information or Ending aids, You then obtain and search the record and then record the information found. or not found on your research log; then enter the information on the appropriate form and then decide on what you are going to do next. When you obtain new information it is important to •share this with other family mem- bers. Pedigree charts, family group sheets and research logs are available at the regular monthly meeting of the society. ' The April meeting will be, held at Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library, 824 - 1st Ave. West in Owen Sound, Apr. 26 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Paul Smart, Manager of Support Services for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be the guest speaker.
