Holyrood who purchased the home
of Gerry and Tina Evans, 562
Hamilton St., who had moved to
Newfoundland earlier in the month.
After the coldest winter in many
years it is good to see some signs
of spring. The bright sunshine was
very welcome and did wonders to
reduce the snow banks,
There is a pair of Canada geese
that don't look too impressed to
find the mill pond still covered over
with ice,.
The students enjoyed a break
from school and found time for
visiting grandparents, friends and
other relatives. The Lucknow
Brownies had a trip to the Museum
at Goderich on Tuesday, which
helped them towards their Heritage

Intermediate girls bring
tourney . banner home
On a stormy Mar. 16, the Luck -
now intermediate girls (11-14)
hockey team travelled to Huron
Park for tournament action.
The first game saw the host team,
Stephen Township, score two in the
first and one in the second. Luck -
now came to life in the third, with
Mary Cox scoring on a cross -ice
pass from, Tory Westbrook.
However, Lucknow took a 3 to 1
loss.
Lucknow vs Ehna-Logan
Now on the. "B".side, the second
game was a very close match with
Elma-Logan,.. whoopened the -
scoring., in the first. Lucknow's
Westbrook replied assisted by
Christy Clough.
.. In the third Lucknow went up by
one on a marker by Sandra Alton
assisted by Westbrook::.
•Elma-Logan tied the match and
Lucknow tried hard to get the win-
ner. However, after regulation time
.sudden death five-minute period
was played. Lucknow had the edge
in play and goalie Jesse Cook was
standing tough in net.
No goals meant fl,*e • more
minutes of hair-raising action with
one less skater each minute. Still no
'goals were scored and a shoot -Out
with three shooters from each team
was held.
Westbrook and Clough both
scored and Cook only allowed one
goal . in, so Lucknow was in the
'finals.
Game three
This •game started quietly, with no
penalties or scoring in the tarsi
In the second Cox took a pass
.from Westbrook for the opening
number. •
Stratford came back in the third
to tie the game, but not for long as
Cox jammed one in with help from
Clough and Westbrook.
Cook kept Stratford off the board
for the Tmal five minutes, and a
very excited group of girls brought
a banner back to town.
Kevin Cook and Allan Andrew
are to be commended for the great
work they did with the team in this
:their first season. • .
Lucknow was not in a league this
year but had exhibition games with
Wingham, Huron Park, Stratford,
and a tournament at Enna -Logan at
