Correspondent honored at party
A 50th Birthday celebration held
on Mar. 12, at 'Trinity Anglican
Church, Mississauga, was a
complete surprise to Eleanor (A-
lton) Henderson.
Attending besides husband Paul
and daughter Jill (at home), were
daughter Heather and Alex Pruett
and children Brandon and, Zachary.
of Buffalo,! New York; Eleanor's
brothers Lorne and Susan Alton,
Ronald and Edna Alton, were also
guests. Unable to attend from Bir-
mingham, Alabama was daughter
Jennifer, husband Mike Thompson
and son Joshua.
Ivan and Jean Henderson, Wes-
ton, were mid -week visitors of local
family, and friends, which included
Jean's sister Violet Durnin, Clinton;
aunts, Hazel Webster, Cora Caesar
and Bi11 of Goderich; brothers, Jim,
Harold and Ross, and Ivan's sister
Eileen and George Wraith,
Goderich.
Russell and Mary Mackie and
daughter Sherrie Nicholson,
Pee Wees lead
' in Ripley series
The Lucknow Pee Wee "A" team
is leading in their five game !series
with Ripley in group playoffs.
Ripley came to Lucknow on
Mar, 15, to play the first game of
the series. Lucknow took this game
7 to 4.
Goalscorers were Dennis Lub-
bers, Craig Moffat, Jeff Andrew,
Jonathon Chilton (2), Ean Moffat,
and Cam' Moffat. Assists' went to
Rob McGee, Mark Stanley, Greg
Courtney, Ean Moffat, Dale
Courtney, and Cam Moffat.
Game 2
Lucknow travelled to Ripley on
Mar: 16 for game two and brought
home another victory, 5 to 1 this
time. •.
Holyrood entertained her mother
Margaret Errington and Jim at a
birthday dinner on Mar. 15. Also
present were the three Pannabecker
brothers Gordon, and Barbara,
Cambridge, Ross and Glenna, Col-
borne Township, Roger and Elsie of
Dungannon.
Great grandparents Allan and
Beth Dickson proudly announce the
arrival of Haley Elizabeth MacLel-
lan on Mar; 12 at St.' Joseph's
Hospital, London. Five pounds, 4
ounce Haley is • the daughter of
Susan and Tim MacLellan, Huron
Haven, and the granddaughter of
Arlene and Ralph Curran, Goderich.
Her middle name Elizabeth, is
family tradition for four
generations.'
Congratulations to Gloria and
Nels Pearson, who celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on Mar.
18.' The family is celebrating this
golden occasion at a later date.
. Doug Kerr has been hospitalized
at Goderich Alexandra and Marine
with pneumonia. for the past 10
days.. Get well wishes Doug and
also' to. Cynthia Anderson.
The Fifth:Lenion Sunday service,
bearing the theme of "Planting
Hope" was held in Dungannon
United Church under the leadership
of lay minister Micheline Monueul.

of Mary Belle Cranston, Diane

attended the funeral of their aunt
Tillie, (Mrs. Andrew Gaunt) at
McBurney Funeral Home, Win-
gham on Mar. 16. Spring burial in
Greenhill Cemetery, Luckngw.
Sympathy is extended to the
Rutledge family, Nile in the sudden
passing of Wilmer, in his 77th year
at his home on Mar. 14.
Kathy Olson, formerly of Dun-
gannon was a volunteer with St.
John Ambulance at Young Canada
Week. Kathy has been a volunteer
with St. John's Ambulance for the
last five years at this event..
Kim and Ish Rahaman and family
Ryan, Alicia and Jordan, of
Kitchener, visited with her parents
Bob and Doreen McCormick during
Beatrice McQuillin, born Feb. 5, the past week. •
1904, died. at Pinecrest Manor, Joe and Teresa Courtney and
Lucknow on Mar. 17. She is the Marvin and Hannie.Scott visited on
last surviving member of the family Mar. 16 with Jim Nelson, a patient.

playoff game of the divisional
championships..
An exciting unassisted opening
goal by Blair Morrison started the
scoring at the three minute mark.

sisted by Graham Cook and Jesse

The team kept .the action in Dur-
ham's end and Johnston blasted one
Lucknow came back strong in the
third period and Morrison slipped
^another one in, assisted by Cook for
a crowd roaring victory. of 4 to 0.
Goaltender Dustin )rarrish
provided the team with yet another
shutout.
Lucknow ' travels to Durham
Friday night, then will be ready to
take on Mount Forest on ' Saturday.
The final game of the series will be
played Sunday in Lucknow against
Mount Forest at 3 p.m.
Atom A's play in consolation round
The Lucknow Atom A team
„ played, their last tournament' of the ,
season in Mildmay.
The `first. game was .an exciting
match with Port. Elgin II,. Lucknow
scored the first goal when Jordan
Hamilton ,fed Brian' Stanley the
puck.
Port Elgin . tied" things up in the
second,. but Lucknow's Paddy lyon
Scored the go ahead goal only to,
have Port Elgin come back and tie
it up again,' ;
After five minutes ofovertime the •
score remained tied at two all.

a shootout when Port Elgin scored
twice and Lyon scored picking up
his number two of the night.
Final score -4 to 3 for Port Elgin.
Consolation division
Game two was played ' against,
Wallace, and was a close one.
Lyon scored both Lucknow's.
markers, assisted by Johnathon
Drennan and Chris, Wainwright.
With Wallace up by one, Luck -
now pulled goalie Andrew Pickard
and skated with six attackers, but
Wallace hit the empty net to win
the .game 4 to 2. •
