Pamela Dickson, a registered massage therapist, expanded her Goderich practice, to include time in Lucknow. Currently, Dickson comes to Lucknow every two weeks on Thursday afternoons, but she is hoping to build up a client list that will require more time here. Dickson, who was'born and raised in Goderich, graduated from Goderich t College Institute. It was during her last year in' high school, when she participated in a co-operative education program. at the hospital, that her interest in massage therapy was peaked. She subsequently embarked upon a two-year intensive course at the D'Arcy Lane Institute in London. Dickson said the course was much more "involved" than what she 'had originally anticipated. Some of the areas covered included "a lot . of sciences, pathology, nutrition and public health" she says. Once the students (learned the theory aspect, they had to complete 200 super- vised hours of massage 1 therapy before graduating. Students with less than 75 per cent on tests or •exaIi s had to rewrite. Massage therapy has many benefits,' says Dickson.
