Also slated for closure this spring, is the veterinary services laboratory, .which provided specialized services such as autopsies on livestock for farmers within a wide radius of the college. In making the November ,40announcement, Huron MPP Paul Klopp said he still. had "his fingers crossed" in hopes of keeping the • veterinary services lab open, but that prospect now appears dim, unless a private operator for the facility surfaces. The private sector appears to be the primary potential market in an ongoing search. for new uses for the college spacious and well-maintained facilities, says Lou Di Gironimo, of the Ontario Development Corporation, which acts as landlord for the college and other buildings within the Huron Industrial Park. Di Gironimo said numerous par- ties have shown interest in the college, but none with plans or . resources for operations large enough to require the entire fa ility. Not surprisingly, many of the proposed uses involve education.
