Dean Rieg!ng, son of Max and
Helen Riegling, a student at a col-
lege in Barrie, was home recently
visiting with his fancily.

Bridges host special guests
from Prince Edward Island
The Bridges enjoyed a long
awaited visit from Leo's mother,
Reby Bridges and sister Michelle.
They arrived from Prince Edward
Island on Feb. 22. Leo and friend
Ron Elliott met them at the airport.
It was nine years this summer
since Leo and his family were
together, when the Bridges travelled
to Prince Edward Island for summer
holidays.
Leo's mother hasn't visited On-
tario in 10 years, and this is
Michelle's first holiday in.Ontario.
• Wednesday was a snow day (no
school) 'and this allowed. Reby the
day to spend with her
grandchildren.
On Saturday, the family travelled
to Guelph to see Karen's mother
Lola Bridges, a former resident of
Lucknow, and cousins Dianne
Brown, Trina Matheson and
Raymond Wilson.
After the visit, they were off to
St. Catherines, where they all en-
joyed a lovely stay at the Holiday
Inn. Sunday was the reason for
Reby and Michelle's visit - Reby's
father, George Oatway, celebrated
his 75th at a birthday party, at-
tended by over 100 people. The
Lucknow group made it possible for.
four generations to be together. •
Reby and Michelle thought Luck -
now was a beautiful and friendly
town. They plan on spending the

Catherines as Reby's father is not
well.
The sighting of a Robin was
reported by a Huron Road 20
(Ashfield Township) lady last week.

ning there was a request for an-
niversary wishes for Archie and
Birdie Nicholson of Lucknow, who
were celebrating their 58th wedding
anniversary Mar. 4. We would like

returned from Florida.
Pinecrest honors ladies
on their special days
During the month of February,
Pinecrest Manor Nursing home
residents ,and staff helped five
ladies celebrate their birthdays.
Beatrice McQuillin• and Margaret
MacLeod were 90 years • young,
Sadie Hamilton and Alice Proctor
93, < and Margaret Haldenby
celebrated her 96th birthday.
The,Kairshea Institute entertained
and gave each birthday lady a bal-
loon and a card. Cake and ice
cream was then served.
The residents enjoy the Grade 1
class from LCPS visiting each•,
Wednesday •afternoon to sing or
dance, and then read to them.
The Lucknow Christian Reformed
ladies conduct bingo the second
Monday of every month and the
Salvation Army visits with
everyone weekly.
Residents invite you to join them
for Church every Sunday afternoon
or the Pentecostal service the iburth
Thursday of the month.

fees held at '93 •level
The Lucknow and District -Cham-
ber of Commerce met at the
Mayfair Restaurant on Mar: 2, with
approximately 20 members to atten-

with advertising plans. The adver-
tising committee will meet
separately and present a budget for
promotions at the next meeting in
April.
The local Chamber of Commerce
has just completed its first year as
an affiliate of the Ontario. Chamber
of Commerce. •
By the 1993 year end, member-
ship had increased to 49 businesses.
Invoices for membership fees are
being prepared for mailing. The
fees will remain at $120 plus GST
for 1994.
The COC is to be recognized as
the voice of the business com-
munity, committed to enhancing the
economic prosperity and quality of
life in and surrounding Lucknow.
These interests are also promoted
in a broader sense, through the
affiliation with the Ontario and
Canadian Chamb4rs of Cornincrce.
Mernbcrship• fees permit others to
continue their good work in support
of area businesses interest.
One of the most successful ven-
tures of the COC was the continued

efforts to obtain an automauc
banking machine for the village.
The• Bank of Montreal will have
.one installed by Apr. 30. • . •
• Other accomplishments during
1993 included establishing an an-
nual .Community Service Award,
designing a Chamber logo, setting
up an information booth, and
making Chamber gift certificates
available.
When it comes to networking, the
executive of the COC asks that you
consider this organization.
