Figure Skating Club
holds achievement night
The Lucknow Figure Skating
Club held ai very successful
achievernen .'r).ight on Mar. 2.
The 15604:el. groups, assisted by
their junior coaches, demonstrated'
forward and; backward skating, t-
pushoffs, two foot spins and two
foot glides.
Charlotte Drennan and Marlene
John ton skated the Dutch Waltz as
did AShl'ey Humphrey and Amy
Knechtel:.
1 Solos were skated by the six
winners from the club competition
on Feb. 9. Melissa Hare and Shel-
ley Johnston' also performed solos.
The two senior groups .each did a
precision number.
Trophies were presented to the six
winners of the club competition.
Sandra Morrison,' president of the
club, has started a new tradition
with two "President's Awards".
Most improved skater was won by
Corey Rintoul and most improved
CanSkaterwas won by Stephanie
Morrison and Laura Knechtel.
John Barger and , Maryon Dow
were presented with gift baskets
and thanked for their excellent
coaching during the year. The
junior coaches each received a gift
as well.
Seventeen door prizes, donated by
local businesses and individuals,
were given away.
The Teeswater Precision Team
thrilled the audience with a number
performed to Robin Hood.

Goderich airport
gets funding for
improvements
GODERICH - A joint federal -
provincial investment of
$600,000 has been given to the
Goderich Municipal Airport.
Paul Steckle, Huron -Bruce MP
says, "The new and improved
facilities will encourage cor-
porate and charter aircraft •
operators to use the airport for
business and tourism activities.
The work will extend the life of
the 'pavement, enhance airport
operations and maintenance, and
ensure the safe and efficient
movement of passengers and
goods."
The project also includes
reconstruction of the secondary
runway. •
Work is expected to be
completed next year.

Figure Skating Inter -club 'competition received their awards

at World Day of Prayer
The World Day of Prayer Service everyone for worship. Isobel, Barb
was held in Luckno v United and Evans Helm and Lynn Adam-
