Many residents enjoy Tommy Hunter show

residents helped pack the Memorial
Theatre in Blyth on Saturday for
either of the two performances of
Canada's Country Gentleman, Tom-
my Hunter, who was in concert
with his five -piece band The
Travelling Men.
Many country oldies brought back
fond memories of the Tommy
Hunter Show as it appeared on TV
for 25 years. A rousing, hand -clap-
ping, toe -tapping downright en-
joyable good time was had by all.
Ashfield Presbyterian Church will
host the World Day of Prayer on
Friday, at 2 p.m. for the churches
of Ashfield, Kingsbridge, Port Al-
bert, Nile, Donnybrook, Dungan-
non, St. Augustine and Trinity. The
theme is "Go, See and Act". Guest
speaker is Mrs. Frances Nugent.

Two Alpine stereos stolen
STEREO. STOLEN.
A $345 Alpine AM/FM cas-
sette stereo was stolen from a
car in Lucknow Feb. 14.
The car was parked, at a
Campbell Street residence over-
night when the theft occurred.
The car may not have been
locked.
uA $300 Alpine stereo was
taken ,from the car of an RR 2,
Lucknow residence.
Michael Campbell reported the
theft on Feb. 25, after someone
entered his car overnight. .
MAIL BOXES DAMAGED
Eleven mail, boxes from •,
Kinloss and Huron Township
residences were reported dam-
aged on Feb. 26.
Sometime overnight, unknown
persons travelled on Conc. 1 and
Conc. 2 of Huron Township and
Conc. 1, Conc. 2 and County
Road 1 in Kinloss Township.
They stopped at mail boxes and
smhshed them with an unidenti-
fied object, causing between
$200 and $300 in damages.

Nine Dungannon area CGIT girls
ended a 30 -hour famine on Satur-
day, under the leadership of Mary
Garriock, Elizabeth Irvin and Kay
Logtenberg. This project supported
World Vision Canada, a Christian
humanitarian relief and develop-
ment organization.
The pledges received will assist
child care in world wide countries,
regardless of color, age, gender or
religion.
Time was well spent with the
girls involved in games, crafts,
movie viewing and out -door relays.
Misfortune befell 10 -year-old
Leah Bauer when on her outdoor
skating rink she fell. She now
sports a cast on her broken right
arm, which did not deter her from
participating in the kids art classes,

Seniors Centre, for students over
the age of nine years. They will
teach the fundamentals of sketching,
composition and use of colors.
Delmar and Judy Sproul, Judy
and Mile (Mort) Gregory have
returned from a motor trip to the
southern states. Points of interest
visited included Louisville, Ken-
tucky; Nashville, Tennessee and
Branson, Missouri.
Jim and Margaret Errington had a
whirlwind tour on Monday visiting
her sister Mary Ann and Sheldon
Martin in New Hamburg, cousins in
Shakespeare and Tavistock, Jakie
and Mary MacDougal at Seaforth
Manor, and, Jim's sister, Violet
Dumin in Clinton, on the return
trip.
Eighteen tables of euchre were in
play at the Dungannon Agricultural
Hall on Saturday. Clarence and Jim
Doherty were in top position, with
Elsie Pannabecker and Judy Sproul
in second, and Donna Hayden and
Yvonne Dougherty in third. Brian
Pollock won the special draw.
DJ Calvin Kerr provided music
for the evening dance to help ban
cabin fever.
Sandra and Audrey (Errington)
and husbands Ken Davidson and
Ferg Burns, along with children
Laura and Matthew, Jana and Shane
visited with their father Jim and
Margaret Errington on Sunday.
