two games
The Novice`B team had two
exciting victories this week.
On Feb. 24, the team travelled to
Howick.
After two scoreless periods, Luke
Van Osch scored early in their
third, assisted by Derek Quinlan
and Jesse Johnston.
Howick tied the game, but
Johnston retaliated with help from
Preston Drennan.
Howick pulled their goalie in the -
last minute of play and with only
two seconds left on the clock,
Johnston scored to finish the game
at Lucknow 3, Howick 1.
Netminder Dustin Farrish
displayed excellent goaltending.
Ripley vs Lucknow
On Saturday, the team hosted
Ripley who opened the scoring
early in the first. Lucknow carne
back fast with a goal from Van
Osch, assisted by Quinlan, and
Kevin DeBruyn.
Ripley took the lead in the second
period and held on to it until in the
last minute of play Lucknow pulled
their goalie and with six attackers
managed to tie the game. Johnston
was credited with. the goal with an
assist to Van Osch.
Both teams played hard in the 10
minute overtime, but all the action
was in Ripley's end..
With just 23 seconds left in the
overtime period, Van Osch dented
the twine assisted by Johnston and
Blair Morrison for a crowd roaring
victory of 3 -.2.
Pee •Wee A's
take series
. The •Lucknow Pee Wee A team
started their round of playoffs
against Clifford on Feb. 20.
Lucknow scored twice in the first
period and seven times in the
second period to win the game 9 to
2.
Goals for Lucknow went to Rob
McGee, Jeff Andrew (2), Craig
Moffat (2),, Greg.. Courtney, Dennis
Lubbers, Jonathon Chilton and
Shane Petteplace: _
Assisting on these goals were
Cameron Moffat,. Dale -Courtney,
Jonathon- MacKinnon, Mark Stan-
ley, Dennis Lubbers, Shane Pet-
teplace and Conor McDonagh.
Jordan Andrew played a strong
• game in net.
Game 2
Game -two was in Lucknow on
Feb. 22 and saw Lucknow take the
series two games straight.
Lucknow scored once in the first
period, three times in the second
and seven times in the third, to win
the game 11 to 1.
Rob McGee started the scoring
again for Lucknow. Other point
getters were Craig Moffat. (3), Ean
Moffat (4), Dennis Lubbers, and
Jonathon MacKinnon (2).

and Cameron Moffat assisted on the
goals.
Adam Cameron was in net for
this game holding the opposition to
one marker.
Bantam A's win Ripley series
The third game in the Bantam A's F,nal score Lucknow 5, Ripley 2.
playoff series was played in Ripley `� Game 4
on Feb. 21. Ripley came to Lucknow on Feb.
Lucknow scored early in the first 23, with the host team taking a two
when Colin Becker netted one goal lead, from Ed Courtney and
assisted by Trevor Moffat and Ed Jeff Porter. Assists were credited to
Courtney. J. Porter and Becker.
Lucknow led by one until late in Lucknow added one more m the

Park. This team was put in Luck-
now's group for the playoffs. They

The' Lucknow Atom B team

and took an early lead in the second
game of their series with Walkerton
on Friday' evening.
It wasn't long until Walkerton
found their strength and took the
lead away from the host team.
Although Lucknow kept the pres-
sure on and it appeared they might
catch up, Walkerton proved too
powerfuland took home a 7 to 5
win. _
Scoring for Lucknow were Mat-
thew Martin with .a hat trick, and
Cory Robertson and Kiel Farrish
with singles. Scott Austin and
Jeremy Austin picked up two assists
each, and Jordan Schell a single.
Alicia Thacker, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Eric Thacker, placed first
in the junior division of the Legion

Visitors over the weekend with

The hard work of Nick Mann
paid off as he scored on a scramble
in front, assisted by Richard Walke.
Stephen Township regained their
two goal lead before Mali carried
the puck up the ice, passed to Troy
McKenzie who set up N. Mann in
the slot and he hit the twine with
his backhand. •
In the third, Stephen Township
padded their lead with two more
before Mark Meriam closed the
gap, assisted. by Chris Tabor.
Despite a valiant effort by the
Lucknow squad, they went down to
defeat' as Stephen Township
doubled upon them with a 6 to 3
score.
Atom A's end
playoffs
The Lucknow Atom A's' ended
their playoff season with a strong
Ripley team last week. The Ripley
squad took the series two straight.
In the second game, Lucknow
opened the scoring when Paddy
Lyon went in alone.
Ripley finished the scoring with
four unanswered goals to win 4 to
The team will keep in shape for
an upcoming tournament by playing
some exhibition games.
The Atom A's got off to a rocky
start but showed they were capable
of much better as the season
progressed.
