Ice Demons defeat Blyth
Last Thursday, the Pee Wee B
team started their group playoffs.
The team's winning percentage
during the regular season earned
them the right to play in the top
division. The first game was against
Blyth.
Blyth hit the scoreboard first, but
Mike Wyndham tied the game with
a solo effort when his shot found
the net.
In the second, Blyth regained the
lead buttucknow evened the score
with a wrap-around goal by Daryl
Aitchison, assisted by Jason
Pritchard. Another goal by Blyth
put their team back out front, but
Aitchison again tied when he

pEE WEE
Itti^ IRMf7
flipped his shot over the goalie's
blocker, assisted by Richard Walke
and Taylor Mali. Before the end of
the period, Aitchison's third goal of
the game put Lucknow in the lead
for the first time, assisted by Chris
Tabor.
In the third, Walke added an
insurance goal while Lucknow's
tough detensi'e game shut down
the Blyth team.
Final score Lucknow.,5, Blyth 3.
On Sunday the team travelled to
Kincardine for an early game
against Kincardine I. Lucknow has
never been at their best first thing
in the morning and, unfortunately,
this game was no exception. Al-
though they played well in the first
and scored the only goal of the
period, Kincardine completely
dominated the second and third.
. Scoring for Lucknow in a losing
effort was Daryl Aitichson with a
hat `trick, while the assists were
earned by Richard Walke and John
VanDiepenbeek.
Our next home game will be
Thursday at 7:00 against Stephen
Township, a team we haven't met
before.

Injuries mar final period
On Feb. 19 theLucknow Atom 11
team started their round robin
playoff serieswith a 5 - 1 loss to TOM .
the Webers Electric team from
Walkerton.
The first period was a close one
with end-to-end action. Walkerton
started the scoring late in the
period. A few seconds later, Kiel
Farrish passed to Corey 'Robertson
to .end the period in a 1 - 1 tie.
Even though the Lucknow team
had many scoring opportunities in
the second and third periods,
Walkerton's goalie disappointed
their attempts. Walkerton manages
to get two goals in each of these
periods. The final score was 5 - 1,.
Late in the third Darlene
Aitchison, a valuable defence girl,
was checked from behind. This
resulted in an ambulance ride to
Walkerton hospital. We are glad to
know her injuries were not major
and that she is back on skates ready
to play hockey.
