Congratulations to Henry and
Annette Hendriks on the birth of a
baby girl Kara Elizabeth Ann on
Monday, Feb. 7 at the Clinton
Public Hospital, weighing in at 6
lbs. 8 oz. Proud grandparents arc
David and Betty Kirkland and Mar-
tin and Nolda Hendriks.
We welcome home Clayton Alton
who has been a patient at, Univer-
sity Hospital, London.
Sincere sympathy is extended to
Bernie and Bridget (Dalton) Van
Osch and family on the death of
little seven -day-old Natalie Bridget.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated on
Saturday, Feb. 19 at St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church,
Kingsbridge.
Ian and Donna (Lannon) Parker
of R•R.113, Ilderton visited with Joe
and Teresa Courtney on Tuesday,
Feb. 15. A beautiful sunny day but
travelling was difficult at times due
to white outs between banks of
snow along the way.

Kindergarten took placet St.
Joseph's School, Kingsbridge, on
Tuesday, Feb'. 15. Junior Kindergar-

A large crowd attended' the con-
signment auction sale of tractors.

Brindley Sales Yard, Dungannon on
Saturday, Feb: 19. . •
Dungannon Play School children
with teacher Dawn Tucker and
helpers went for their first Spring
walk along Albert ' Street on.
Thursday, Feb. 17. They had their
newly made' cardboard binoculars
for bird watching but soon found
out ' the birds were shy -and flew
away .when they heard . them
coming. '
• They viewed the birds and feeders
• at Penny and,. Terry Hodges' and
Virginia and. David Caesar's;
St. Helen's Snowmobile Club are
making use of the snow with a SO" -

Public Speaking was held at the
Lucknow Legion Hall on Friday,
Feb. 18.
Winners from • Kingsbridge
representing the Junior Division
were: Bridget Hogan and Natalie
Hogan, daughters of Lawrence and
,Marianne Hogan. . •
Senior Division: Katie Dalton
daughter of Paul and Joni Dalton
and Evan Hickey, son of Jim and
Teresa Hickey.
Winners from Brookside represen-
ting the Junior Division were: Elyse
DeBruyn, daughter of John and
Maureen DeBruyn and Corey Rin-
toul daughter of Barb Rintotil.
Senior Division: Melissa. Lynn
Dozois daughter of Richard and
Annie Dozois and Cathy Carincross
daughter .of Bruce and Judith
Canncross.
Although none of these children
placed, they did a good job and
deserve a lot of praise for doing
such a fine job.
Congratulations to all who spoke
especially to the winners.
A large crowd attended the dance
at the Safford Valley Hall on
Saturday, Feb. 19, sponsored by the
staff of W.G. Thompson and Sons
Limited. Music was by "The
Ruins."
Thirty-two attended the pot luck
supper at the Dungannon Senior

16. Following the smorgasbord,
Rev. Rick Magie addressed the
gathering, with a thought provoking
.message "Living Wills."
Nine tables of euchre were in
progress with Raymond Haggitt,
Frankie, Bernice Henry and Shirley
Kennedy declared winners. Musical
entertainment was provided by
Harold Johnstone's Old Tyme Toe -
Tapping Tapes,
Did you note Minnie (Pearl)
Margaret E. strolling down Dungan -
non's Main Street on Friday, with
her new Tilley hat, acquired
through a CIBC promotion.
Phil Sommers had the misfortune
to have his parked -station wagon
damaged, following a Main Street
collision Tuesday night.
Grandma Yvonne has 'been
holidaying at the • Inn, while
grandsons Michael and Kenny
Gregory sons of Janice and:Danny
Gregory . have been hospitalized
receiving treatment with a bout of
the croup and A.J has been nursing
the gout. •
John Linton, husband of Jaren
Dawson, a weather meteorologist
from Edmonton, Alberta was a mid
week visitor with the Dawson
families.

taurant in Goderich for their Secret
Friend Dinner on • Thursday, Feb.
17, noon with Margaret Errington

The mystery of the "Red" (place
matted) "Bean" was solved when
Alma Black, Elsie Irvin, Louise
Brindley, Belle Mole, Jean Er-
rington, Bernice Henry and Donna
Young were randomly selected for
' readings and recitations.
Joan Dougherty assisted• the
president Jean Errington 'with the
delivery of Friendship gifts.
Missing from last years' group
photo was,Lillian Turner, sympathy
was expressed to 'family members.
Table -favors were crafted by
Leona Boyle which contained after
dinner mints.
A Biblical book mark also graced
the table for each guest.
Sunday Morning Worship at
Dungannon United Church, was in
charge by Lay Minister Sharon
Wurm with the title of the message
was "New Beginnings," for the first
Lenten service.
The Dungannon C.G.I.T. will be
doing their 30 hour famine on Feb.
25 and 26. for World Vision
Canada. This is a•, Christian
'Humanitarian Relief and Develop-
mentorganization that . supports
child .cam worldwide.
Three Dungannon young ladies
have returned from the Caribbean;
Lynda, Debbie and Bev. They
reported smooth sailing on the
Cruiser M.T.S. Triton, excepting
two rough nights. Casual dress on
board ship for breakfast and lunch,
with formal attire for evening din-
ner and entertainment, which was
provided by the Good Brothers,
Karl Keyes Orchestra and the
Townsends, Graeme and Eleanor. ,
Eleanor (Reed) was • pleasantly
surprised to meet up with home
town girls. Other locals holidaying
were Gordon and Pat Hunt, St.
Helen's who had a belated 25th
wedding anniversary: , Also her
sister Nancy and Wayne Grigg
Kitchener, who remained on board
ship for the second week.
