Love was the theme for the
February meeting of the Lucknow
Presbyterian WMS held in the
church on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
Donalda Moffat was in charge of
the program and opened with a Call
to Worship, prayer, and a poem
"My Dearest Valentine." All the
hymns were on the theme of love
and were accompanied by Norma
Raynard.
The devotions were given by
Shirley Hawthorne. The scripture
was Psalm 46 and she gave the
mediation on verse 10 'Be still and
know that I am God." She also read
an article suggesting we should be
living Valentines, carrying the
message of love.
After repeating the aim and pur-
pose each lady answered the rollcall
with a verse on love.
We watched two different videos•
for the study. The first was on the •
work of Sleeping Children Around
Nile United
officers for
The annual meeting of the Nile
United Church was held on Jan. 30,
in the basement of the church with
,a 12:30 luncheon.
User fees for the church were set
at: $100 for winter weddings; $50
for summer weddings and other
acvities at $30.
The following appointments were
made: trustee board members - Cliff
McNeil, Arnold Stothers, Glen
Ribey, and Ron Pentland; board of
stewards - Wayne Caldwell, Andy
Austin, Bryan Stothers, Bryan
Black, Faye Ribey and Diane Dren-
nan. a,
Debbie Caldwell was appointed as
secretary.
Session elders include. Joan
Dougherty, Joyce 'Stothers,
Jamieson Ribey and Cliff McNeil,
with Mr. McNeil as .clerk of the
•
session.
Manse committee members are
Jean Black and Shirley Dustow:
Sherilyn Ribey will be organist,
with Isobel Shepherd as the alter-
nate.
Sympathy and get well cards will
be looked after by Barb Lonsdale;
press reporter is Evelyn McNeil,
and the caretaking of the church
w,i11 be handled by the
congregation.

other video was of Iona, Scotland;
the island where Marion Raynard is
working. Her mother, ' Norma,
answered questions- and had more
pictures of the island and citadel.
Alice Taylor gave the . variety
number, a comical reading "Variety
is the Spice of Life" from a book
by Gisele Ireland.,
An invitation from the United
Church ladies to their March -
meeting was read, as well as ad-
vance notices of the Synodical and
Presbyterial meetings. •
Mrs. Hawthorne gave some of the
highlights of the Presbyterial annual
meeting in Wingham.
Donalda Moffat closed the
meeting with prayer and Rhoda
MacKenzie and Fern MacDonald
served lunch.

comprised of Vanda McNeil, Millie
Johnston, Vicki Culbert and the
minister, with Dianne Drennan in,
charge of the minister and person-
nel.
Val Mallough is the Sunday
School superintendent with Karen
Shepherd as treasurer.

consists of the clerk of the session,
the Sunday School superintendent,
chairman of the stewards and the
ministers:
