A local teenager's fascination
with computers has mushroomed to
the point where, now as a young
man, he is .on the threshold of
opening his own computer business
in Lucknow.
Joey Legrand's keen interest in
computers and the technology
behind them started in 1986 with an
IBM XT. Over the years he has
increased his knowledge to include
from the base right up to software
application. -
In January he established the
Huron -Line Bulletin Board Service
which has 40 users to date. The
service is for anybody to use (you
must have a modem) and Joey
offers a wide range of programs
from entertainment to business.
Currently a student of the
Kitchener campus of the Toronto
with his future mapped out Lottery winners
School of Business, Joey will
complete the business ad-
ministration course in April.
In April he plans to have a faster
computer -on-line, with six CD
Roms, which will make. available
about 3,000 various programs to
users. The system will have 30
doors, with call forwarding for
Goderich and Kincardine area users
to eliminate the long distance char-
ges. This will then be tied in with
three high speed modems.
He will also add a network in'
April that will allow users to con-
verse with others anywhere in the
world. Currently he is speaking
with German users.
When all this is in place, Joey
will open his own computer consul-
ting and sales business. His plans
then are to -make his own computers
