Atoms start playoffs with
Paisley; tied at one each
The Atom A team played the
final game of regular season in
Belmore. Lucknow out -shot their
opponents but fell short of out -
r scoring them.
Belmore scored twice in the first
to go ahead 2 - 0.
Chris Hackett picked upa pass
from Devin Petteplace arty in the
second to light the board. Jonathan
Drennan tied the game when Steven
Hare set him up.
Belmore scored one more in the
second and two in the third to win
the game 5 - 2.
Lucknow vs Paisley
The playoffs began last Wednes-
day in Paisley and Lucknow skated
away smiling.
The first period remained
scoreless but by the second both
teams had warmed up. Paisley
popped in the first. goal and two
minutes later Lucknow tied the
game when Jordan Hamilton beat
their goalie on a passing play from
Russ Mann and Chad Foster. Pais-
ley went ahead 2 - 1 to end play in
the second.
The third period • belonged to
Lucknow as they stormed Paisley's
goalie again and again. Credits for
this 'period were awarded to Paddy
Lyon with two goals and one assist,
Mann and Drennan with singles.
'Assists went to Foster (2), Chris
Hackett, Hare, Brian Stanley and
Dennis Andrew with one each.
Good team effort boys!
Paisley vs Lucknow
On Sunday Lucknow hosted Pais-
ley in an exciting second game of
the ' series. Lucknow came out
flying and went ahead 3 - 0 in the
tirst. Lyon scored the first goal on
a set up by Petteplace and Foster.
Stanley found an opening when
Hare fed the puck up to him. Lyon
scored number two for. himself
assisted by Petteplace and Chris
Wainwright.
Paisley scored the lone goal ,of
the second period to make it 3' - 1.
Paisley came out burning up the
ice after the break and quickly
scored three goals to go ahead 4 -
'3.
It was back and forth play when
Hamilton got a chance to score on
a pass from Lyon. But Paisley got
the go ahead goal a minute later.
Hackett flicked the puck between
the pipes on a line effort by Pet-
teplace and Lyon to force overtime
action.
Paisley put number six on the
board but try as they would time
ran out before Lucknow could
change the score:
Final score 6 - 5 for Paisley.
Blue Weins and Andrew Pickard
shared'the goalkeeping duties.
This game ties the series at one
all. The boys travelled to Paisley on
Monday night but the results came
in too late for press time. The next
home game is Friday at 7:00. Let's
keep it going boys!
Novice B win one,
lose two last week
The Lucknow Novice B team Goals by David Camer
goalie, Dustin Fairish, played a Derek Quinlan put Lucknow up

Ice Demons lose and win
Last Thursday, the Lucknow Pee enjoyed by all. .
Wee Ice Demons played Ripley in
a game which proved to be a shoot
out.
In the first, Ripley scored four
compared to Lucknow's three. In
the second both teams scoredfour
but in the third, Ripley struck twice
and Lucknow once at' 'being four
players short started to show.
Leading the scoring for Lucknow
was Daryl Aitchison. with six goals
and two assists, Richard Welke with
one goal and five assists, Jeff
Havens with one goal, Nick Mann
with three assists, and Chris Tabor
with two assists.
Final score Ripley 10, Lucknow

On Saturday the team travelled to
Owen Sound to watch the Platers
win against the Guelph Storm.

Lucknow vs Blyth
On .Sunday Lucknow played in
Blyth.
Blyth opened the scoring but
before the end of the first, Welke
tied the game .,as he flipped the
ptick over the out -stretched goalie,
assisted by Aitchison and Taylor
Mali.
In the second John VanDiepen-
beek broke down the boards to take
the lead as his shot hit the. far
corner, assisted by Mali.
Lucke w also ruled the third with
two more goals. The first when
Walke one timed in Aitchison's
rebound, assisted by Tabor and
again when Aitchison out raced the
Blyth defence to score unassisted.
Final score Lucknow 4, Blyth 1.

Environmental Farm Plans
Environmental Farm Plans (EFPs)
are documents voluntarily prepared
,by farm families to raise their
awareness of the environment on
.their farm.. Through 'the EFP
process, farmers will highlight
environmental strengths on their
farm, identify areas, of environmen-
tal concern, and set realistic goals
to improve environmental con-
ditions.
Each farm family will develop an
Action Plan which outlines
achievable goals for maintaining or
improving the environment on their
farm.
Agriculture and Agri Food
Canada has committed $3.9 million
of Federal Green Plan funds over
four years to deliv,er Environmental
' Farm Plans. An additional $5.7
million is earmarked to deliver an
incentive program, providing up to
$500 per farm business making
positive changes which have been
identified in their EFP Action Plan.
Environmental Farm Plan
workshops are being delivered by
the Ontario Soil & Crop
Improvement Association • with
technical direction provided by the
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food. '
Workshops will consist of two,
one day sessions that walk par-
ticipants through environmental risk
assessment and EFP Action Plan
development.

ARM REPORT
Kathryn Alton was the recipient of the Lucknow Community
Sale trophy for the most points (890) overall 'for a first or
second year member In the Lucknow 4-H Beef Club. Tom
Brindley made the presentation at the annual meeting of the
Lucknow Agricultural 'Society last Tuesday evening. (Pat
