PERTH DAIRY
CHAMPIONSHIP
Judge Jim Needham of Ripley
had a strong show when 58 en-
trants competed at the annual
Perth 4-H Dairy Championship
Show September 19 at the Strat-
ford Fair. These members came
from eight dairy clubs in Perth.
The competition gets stronger
every year, the 4-H members get
more knowledgeable, and the
calves are of higher quality, Judge
Needham says.
Leroy Cook of R.R. 1, Strat-
ford, North East Hope Club, was
Champion Showman. Robert Van
Nes of R.R. 1, St. Pauls, Stratford
Club, was Reserve Champion
Showman. The Champion Calf
was exhibited by Grant Packham
of R.R. 2, St. Pauls, and Reserve
Champion Calf was exhibited by
Vicki McMillan of R.R. 1, New
Hamburg, North East Hope

CHAMPIONSHIP
There were 91 4-H members
from the counties of Bruce, Elgin,
Huron, Middlesex, Norfolk, Ox-
ford, and Perth competing for
high standings at the Western On-
tario 4-H Championship Show
September 20 at the Stratford Fair.
Judge Jeff Nurse of Georgetown
kept the show moving at a fast
pace, giving thorough reasons for
his selection of winners.
Champion Showman was An-
nette Hazeleger of R.R. 5, Embro,
Oxford County. Reserve Cham-
pion Showman was Val Meisner of
R.R. 7, Woodstock, Oxford. High
Honorable Mention was Janice
Needham of R.R. 3, Ripley,
Bruce.
The Champion Calf was ex-
hibited By Nancy Hazeleger of
R.R. 5, Embro, Oxford. Reserve
Champion was exhibited by Jeff
Borth of R.R. 3, Mildmay,
