The Ontario Minister of Agriculture and Food was on hand at the
opening ceremony of the 1986 International Plowing Match in
Hastings County. Future matches will receive support from the pro-
vince in a different form as administrative responsibility for the IPM is
shifted from the ministry to the plowmen's association over the next
five years. The ministry will be providing $464,000 in grants and will
continue to offer leadership development assistance to local plowing
association committees as well as other support. Photo by Mary -Lou
