WHAT'S NEW?
ALFA LAVAL
FEED CAR
Time and labour are saved by
using an Alfa Laval Feed Car as
well as all the advantages of com-
puterized feeding for stanchion
barn operators.
The Alfa Laval Feed Car is fully
automated, feeding four to five
cows per minute. It can distribute
one or two types of rations with an
auto start timer for up to 10
feedings a day.
The Alfa Laval Feed Car
operates on a standard 4" I beam.
It has a 24V DC battery power sup-
ply (batteries re -charge
automatically).
The Alfa Laval Feed Car
operates on the principle of giving
less feed at one time, but more
feedings a day, so each cow gets an
individually programmed ration
based on their milk production and
lactation.
Siebolt Siertsema, R.R. 1,
Auburn, purchased an Alfa Laval
Feed Car more than a month ago
and says that the Feed Car "saves
a fair bit of time." Before one per-
son had to feed the ensilage and
the other, the chop.
"We used to buy five tons of
concentrate for a five-week period;
now, that same concentrate lasts
over a seven -week period. So the
Feed Car is paying its way."

VALVE BOOSTER
An Australian valve booster can
reduce the cost of wiring automatic
irrigation systems and allows
greater operating distances by solv-
ing voltage drop problems. The
common limit of three solenoids
per controller station can be in-
creased to 10 with the use of the
booster. For more information
