UP TO 40 MILES
TO POST A LETTER
I'm writing to you in regard of
the Toss our rural route mail
delivery. People on our rural
route, R.R. 1, Rainy River, and
R.R. 1, Pinewood will no longer
get mail delivery. Some of these 90
families will have to travel up to 40
miles to post a letter or get their
mail. For ourselves it's about 32
miles. We run a beef operation and
a business from our home and
from now on will probably get and
send mail once a week — maybe
Tess!
It seems as if rural people are se-
cond class citizens as far as Canada
Post or our government is concern-
ed. This decision puts this area
back where it was before the 1950s.
With all the money spent foolish-
lessly — mail service — an essen-
tial service in rural areas isn't im-
portant!
1 think it's about time all rural
families got together and protested
these decisions of Canada Post and
our Government. Your rural ser-
vices may be the next on their list.
May 1 suggest you write your
MPs, your area postmaster, and
the chairman of Canada Post
regarding these matters before you
are in the same situation.

GLANVAC-6 NOT LICENSED
Re: Canadian Firm Tackles
Research on Viral Diseases,
August, 1986: this article refers to
a "Vetrepharm product .
Glanvac-6" as a "licensed vaccine
in Canada," and implies the vac-
cine has been developed by
Vetrepharm. These are unfor-
tunate inaccuracies.
Glanvac vaccines for caseous
lymphadenitis and certain
clostridial diseases were developed
not by Vetrepharm but by Com-
monwealth Serum Laboratories in
Australia. Any animal vaccine sold
in Canada must be approved by
