MVCA completes
tree planting
The Maitland Valley Conserva-
tion Authority's 1986 tree planting
program has been successfully
completed.
Under the Reforestation
Assistance Program approximately
40,000 trees were planted on 24
privately owned sites within the
watershed. The remainder of the
trees were put on lands owned by
the Authority. The major species
planted were white pine, white
spruce, white cedar, norway
spruce, and poplar.
The Reforestation Assistance
Program is available to land-
owners with between one and 10
acres of land that is unsuitable for
agricultural use. Trees planted in
these areas will help control soil
erosion, conserve water, aid in
flood control, and improve
wildlife habitat.
The 1987 planting program is
presently booked, however, land-
owners can still apply for the
spring 1988 program.

I g ] EASY CUT SYSTEM
A Breakthrough in Sicklebar Design
Check these features:
Guards are made of heat treated spring steel — do not break or bend, wear longer
• No hold down clips, wear plates, shims, etc. — knife does not plug, even in wet,
matured grass
Guard has two cutting edges, bottom and top — lasts at least twice as long as
other guards
▪ Knife cuts against bottom and top of guard — close section — guard contact in-
creases cutting performance
r No adjustments necessary when installing system or in years of use
r System fits most mower conditioners, swathers, combines and floating cutter bars
r Sections can be bolted or riveted to knife
r Priced very competitively — 9 ft. $498, 15 ft. $737, includes knife and all parts for
changeover
r Works great in flax.
If you want to greatly improve the cutting performance of your mower -conditioner,
swather or combine this system will do it.
