Together with Ontario Hydro, Hans worked out an effective energy saving plan. Hans, who keeps 110 Yorkshire- Landrace sows, uses 40 infra- red heat lamps 1250 watts each i in his farrowing operation. He wanted to reduce his heat lamp output, especially during the summer. Ontario Hydro farm specialist Keith White suggested using dimmer switches. An experiment was set up by Ontario Hydro's London-based regional agricultural su- pervisor Stan Stewart it to test the idea. Two HOW DIMMING 1HE LAMPS CAN BRIGHTEN YOUR PROFIT PICTURE.
