White Wyandotte, male
Partridge Chanticleer, male. This breed was developed in Alberta during the 1930s
by a Dr. Wilkinson. He used the same breeds as parent stock that Brother Wilfred
Chateaine had used when he developed the White Chanticleer. Whereas Brother
Wilfred used the white varieties of the breeds as parent stock, Wilkinson used most
of the same breeds, but he used the coloured varieties to produce a coloured bird.
Because the coloured pinfeathers make the breed unpopular with processors, the
breed was never a success commercially. Today. it is a somewhat rare poultry fan-
ciers' breed.
