Top positions acclaimed at Grey Annual
The Grey County Federation of Agriculture held their annual banquet and meeting on Friday, October 18 at the St. Peter & St.
Paul Church Family Centre, Durham. The top positions on the executive were acclaimed, from left: Don Hill, president; Carl
Spencer, first vice-president; and Murray Clarke, second vice-president. Provincial Minister of Agriculture and Food Jack
Riddell was guest speaker. Riddell said that the debt review program in Saskatchewan "was not working all that well" and
would not work in Ontario because the majority of leading institutions in the province are banks, which are administered
under the federal Bank Act, whereas most of the farm loans in Saskatchewan are made by credit unions, and by the
Agricultural Credit Corporation which falls under provincial jurisdiction.
