Maintenance
courses offered
A farmer is generally a jack-of-all-
trades. He is an accountant, tiller of
the land, investor, biologist, and of
course a mechanic. Centralia College
of Agricultural Technology
recognizes the variety of skills needed
in farming today and helps farmers to
meet the demands of farm -machinery
maintenance by offering winter
courses.
These courses help both experienc-
ed farmers and those new to main-
taining farm equipment.
Machinery -maintenance courses
begin in January, 1986 and run from
7:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the evenings.
They are being offered in:
• Russeldale at Russeldale Farm
Equipment, January 6 to March 10,
Monday evenings.
• Fergus, January 7 to March 11,
Tuesday evenings.
• Stratford at D.S. Downham Equip-
ment, January 8 to March 12,
Wednesday evenings.
• Listowel at Stoltz Farm Equipment,
January 8 to March 12, Wednesday
evenings.
• Exeter at Huron Tractor, January
16 to March 20, Thursday evenings.
• Seaforth at Vincent Farm Equip-
ment, January 20 to February 24,
Monday evenings.
The information covered at the
machinery workshops will vary slight-
ly depending on the crops and
machinery most common in a certain
area, says Kathryn Biondi, head of
Communications and Continuing
Education at the college.
A welding course is also being of-
fered at Centralia College from
January 15 to March 19 on Wednes-
day evenings. Biondi adds that a new
course in electricity and electronics is
being offered at the college this
winter on Tuesday evenings from
January 7 to February 11. For more
information contact Centralia Col-
lege at 519-228-6691.
