WHAT'S NEW?
Wet feeder nipple
Cofinement hog producers can
now replace worn nipples in wet
feeders with the new #65 Wet Feeder
Nipple from Trojan Specialized
Livestock Equipment.
"Like its predecessors, the #75
and Spiglet nipples, the #65 has a
simple, efficient design which allows
easy installation, maintenance, and
servicing, if needed," says Jerry
Peterson, director of engineering.
The half-inch valve is made of
heavy-duty 304 stainless steel and
other non -corrosive materials to en-
sure long life and durability. A slot-
ted filter supplies high quality water
by screening out dirt and con-
taminents.
The #75 can be used in wet feeding
systems that employ either pressure
regulators or gravity tanks. The Tro-
jan #65 Wet Feeder Nipple comes as
standard equipment on a variety of
wet feeding systems, or it is available
directly from the manufacturer as a
service part.
More information on the #65 Wet
Feeder Nipple and the full line of
Trojan watering and livestock equip-
ment can be obtained by contacting

Commercial atrophic
rhinitis vaccine
Vetrepharm Inc. is pleased to in-
troduce TURBO-BPK, the first com-
mercial atrophic rhinitis vaccine with
klebsiella pneumoniae. TURBO-
BPK, a product of Canadian research
and manufacturing, incorporates
bordetella bronchiseptica and tox-
igenic pasteurella multocida with the
unique addition of klebsiella
pneumoniae.
Why Klebsiella? Vetrepharm
Research Inc., as a service to practis-
ing veterinarians, manufactures
autogenous, or farm specific
bacterins, for diseases not responding
to commercial vaccines. More than 60
per cent of the submissions from
herds with persistent atrophic rhinitis
displayed klebsiella as a common fac-
tor. While bordetella bronchiseptica
and toxigenic pasteurella multocida
are certainly well documented
pathogens of atrophic rhinitis, other,
more opportunistic organisms such as
klebsiella may play a role in causing
this infectious disease which is costly
to the pork producer.
