Youth Alive
in '85
This is the International Year of
Youth. Participation, development,
and peace are the three areas
highlighted. At the Youth -Alive in
'85 event organized by Perth 4-H
Junior Leaders, the same three -
pronged theme was reflected.
Members of 4-H clubs, active in
115 countries, make up the world's
largest youth organization, notes Hal
Thompson, formerly Perth OMAF's
4-H co-ordinator and a guest speaker
at the event. He encourages members
to find out how many MPs, MPPs,
and leaders of agricultural organiza-
tions in Ontario are former 4-H
members. They provide examples of
the attributes 4-H can foster.
More than 30 young people par-
ticipated in the event led by Jeff Ban-
nerman, Junior Leaders club presi-
dent, and the enthusiastic Stephen
Sharpe of Perth OMAF. Discussion
