"When will the little king come?"
The students at LDCS held their
Christmas program on Wednesday,
Dec. 15. Their program was called
"A Gift for Him," and talked about
the real meaning of Christmas.
It began with a • family scene,
where Uncle Jack didn't want to go
to his nephew's Christmas program.
After hearing the real meaning of
Christmas, he was glad he'd gone.
The program was a great success!
Christmas Day will soon be here.
Most of us start making plans for
the Christmas season.
When grades five and six, were
asked about their plans for
Christmas, everyone responded
enthusiastically.
Stephen looks forward to having
a friend come to spend Christmas
with him, while Lisa is going to
Drayton fora family Christmas.

Nadege can't wait to get to her
Aunt's house. Julie and Sam are
excited about going to Kitchener for
New Years and Chad is happy to be
going to Kitchener during the
holiday.
All of the student's at Lucknow
and District Christian School went
skating on Friday afternoon, their
last day of school till after the New
Year. Everyone was excited about
Christmas vacation, and skating was
a perfect way to start it.
MI of the students at, LDCS
presented their program at the Win-
gham and Area Seniors Day Centre.
The program went very well and
when the students socialized with
the elderly, everyone said they liked
.the program.
Simpsons return home
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Simpson
returned home last• Sunday after a
trip to England.
• The total amount raised 'during
the Whitechurch and area Bible
Society canvas was $325. Those
canvassing were Pauline Adams,
Mary Simpson, Janet Little, Cathy
Edgar, Mildred Purdon, Jean Ross
and Agnes Farrier. Thanks to
everyone.
Janet Cook, Jean Ross and Kath-
leen Elliott packed Christmas b,oxes•,
for shut-ins at the Pinecrest Nursing
Home, Luckitow, and Brookhaven,
Wingham. Vera Falconer delivered
them on Thursday afternoon.

' The ladies of the Salvation Army,
Wingham, ,catered, to' the
Whitechurch Women's Institute
when they gathered for their,
Christmas meeting on Dec. 13.
Thirty-two members and guests
attended.
The meeting opened with
president Marjorie Wall reading a
poem "Once in Royal David's City.
Carols were sung throughout the
program with Jean Ross as accom-
panist. •
Jean Tiffin gage a humorous
reading called "Shopping for
Christmas". Music selections from
Gordon Wall, Mary Hehn, Agnes
Farrier and Mrs. Tijffui were en-
joyed.
Mae Johnston gave two readings
"Christmas Time" and "Christmas
Power".
A group of ladies - Mrs. Tiffin,
Jeanette Wardrop, Gertrude Durnia,
' Evelyn Gibb, Kathleen Elliott, and
Jean Ross sang three numbers ac-
companied by Mrs. Farrier at the
piano.

year's secret sister.
Mrs. Tiffin and Mrs. Hehn were
conveners for the meeting.

Chalmers Women's Missionary
Society_ held their Christmas
meeting at the home of Jean Ross
on Dec. 13, with dessert served
prior to the meeting.
Janet Cook convened the meeting
and everyone was asked to
contribute something. Christmas
stories, readings and the origin' of
the carol Silent Night were 'enjoyed.
Carols were sung throughout the
meeting, •
The next meeting is at the home
of Norma Rintoul on Jan. 19.
