Atom B's play match hockey
with Kincardine last week
The Lucknow and Kincardine
Atom B's played match hockey on
Nov. 30 with the score ending in a
-3tie.
After a scoreless first period,
Kincardine opened with two quick
goals, and then another before
Lucknow got on the scoreboard.
Scott Austin and Rene Blceker set
up the play for Jeremy Austin.
Jordan Sch II dented the twine next,
on a play y Cory Robertson and
Matthe actin.
The third period was end-to-end
action with several scoring oppor-
tunities being stopped by excellent
goaltending. Persistence paid off
with Scott Austin netting one after
pickup up a rebound from Jordan
Schell.
Lucknow vs Walkerton
Dec. 4 saw Lucknow play a
strong game against Walkerton who
won the game 4 - 2.
Down three goals, Lucknow kept
trying and it finally paid off when
Mary Cox put the puck away,
assisted by Jordan Schell.
Lucknow played strong in the
third period with many` chances.
Scott Austin scored with an assist
going to Jeremy Austin.
Juveniles play
sliort-handed
Nine players, no regular goalie
and one person behind the bench
was not conducive to the Lucknow
Juveniles being victorious in a
weekend game in Walkerton. All
things considered, a good effort was
put forth by those who played.
Warren Andrew took on the
goalie duties and despite the score,
he made some fancy glove saves.
Adrian Rau scored but this was not
t<illied.
Scott Rintoul is out with a partial
shoulder separation.
In a rematch with Walkerton, a
full squad of Lucknow players
should provide stiff competition.

Varied weather conditions
hamper Lancers' abilities
The Lucknow Lancers play has
looked a lot like the weather lately
- mostly cold and cloudy with a
few sunny spots spread over the
game.
Starting in Ripley a couple of
weeks ago, a Tight snowfall quickly
turned into a hail storm with puck -
size stones reportedly falling in the
Lancer net. All told, 8 inches of
snow fell in just one hour.
The following Sunday, the west
winds • were again blowing strong
but it was Mildmay that took the
brunt of the storm with 7 inches of
snow while Lucknow escaped with
just 4 inches.
With temperatures warming
slowly, the snow changed to ram
and the Lancer net was flooded this
time as the Grand Valley Tornadoes
swept through the village. The
water broke the dam early and the
Lancers couldn't bail the water out
fast enough with up to 6 inches of
rainfall by the end of the night.
Only the efforts of Chris Irwin,
Darren Lindsay, Andy Grazier and
Brad Murray warded off a complete
washout, Darren Lindsay with his
single stroke, hand crafted pump by
Walky assisted on two as well.
Weatherman Ron Stanley predicts
more sunshine next weekend when
Teeswater comes to town Friday for
an 8:45 game and Tiverton blows

the ice for the third period when
Mildnl. • chalked up two late goals
to put the; game out of reach. Final
score 4 - 2 for Mildmay.
Saturday night during exhibition
play in Goderich, Lucknow simply
